Hello there, thanks a lot for the prompt! So, in my style, I wanna write healing fluff. Because healing fluff is The Thing I Love, and since I read something REALLY heartbreaking today (by @disaster-bi-canach Read it Here!), I will amend it. I wanted to to this with sweet Naoise (whose name has like 3 different pronunciations because GAELIC). Hope you like it! <3
Side note: Arlen the murderboi and Mozz the trashplant are not mine. I have not such talent for drama (?)
He knew it was a dream. But it was not just one of the strange stories concocted by his mind, but a Dream, A prophecy, or a memory. A wooden door in the seedy part of Lionâs Arch, planks rotten and hinges rusted as a malignant vapor escaped from its underside. Smelled like nightmare and sap, like pain and plantblood. Like corpses of love wishes, strangled by briarthorns. Naoise did recognize the voices inside the house, the moans and the shadow of threats under them. Suffering, and silence, and fear and abuse and everything he had recognized in the air around the Courtier that had almost killed him the day before.
It was not a dream, it was a memory. One of his own memories; he had felt awkward and ended up going somewhere else. He had no right to interfere in the life of Arlen, even if a part of his heart broke everytime something like that happened. No one deserved to be used like that. If he could, he would kick the courtierâs ass far away, so he could choke on his own poison.
But that had to wait. The sounds of morning woke him up. The sight of his room, his bags already made, made him feel better. The sight of Tristan, his beloved fernhound, made him smile; unlike Naoise, Tristan was happy, ready to face every challenge, doing everyhing he could to make his partner feel better.
âWe have to check up on him, Tristanâ the ranger whispered in his mind, knowing the hound could understand him better that way. Tristan snarled, anger surging, the desire to bite off the face of the courtier filling his mind. He was a fierce protector of the Dream, and the memory of that man threatening to kill Naoise was a fresh memory that could only dissapear with either distance, or vengeance.
Ranger and hound got ready, and went to the destitute house where Arlen lived, only to find it empty. Worry started to brew in the mind of Naoise; was Arlen alright? Had he flown away with the courtier? Had heâŚ
No. That could not be it. He sighed deeply and decided to be brash for once in his short life. He slammed the fragile door with his own body, and found that the room was abandoned, not even a trace of Arlenâs presence. Even if his aroma was in the air. âI need you to track him, my friendâ although snarling, Tristan obeyed, running through the city, following a trail that few could follow.
They arrived to a house, far sturdier than the one where Arlen used to live. It was also in a quieter place, surrounded by other houses instead of seedy taberns and wilderness. Naoise knocked at the door, and heard a loud gasp, followed by a growl of pure anger, and the distintive noises of a loaded rifle. âArlen, its me!â he cried out. He could hear steps towards him, and the low voice of Arlen creeping across the door.
âWhere is Tristan?â he asked, eliciting a bark of the fernhound, along with his paws scratching the door. Tristan was as worried as Naoise, and was way more vocal about it, barking once more so the sharpshooter could ehar him clearly. âAlright. It is you. I though you were Morrisey in disguiseâ. The ranger felt relief all over his body, sighing as deeply as he could. Arlen was safe, albeit scared, nd he couldnât blame him. âDo not enter, thoughâ he heard Arlen saying âI need some time to take everything I need. We are leaving for Orr, nowâ
There was a sharpness in his voice that Noise had never heard. Fear, anger, and the sheer need to get ut of the city as soon as possible. He could not judge Arlen, but he wanted to know something. âWhy?â he asked âI will obey you, and I have been ready ever since you told me there could be someone tracking you. But I want to know why do you want to go nowâ
Silence once more, as Arlen growled lowly, as if discussing something with himself. âHe will come backâ he murmured âHe wonât leave me alone, Morrisey wonât be happy until he kills both of us, or worseâŚâ Naoise almost could feel the creeping fear that made Arlen shudder âHe threatened you, and now he has a gnash in his face thanks to your arrows. He wonât forgive you. He will try to kill you and as your bodyguard, I canât let that happenâ
So it was a work issue, trampled and tangled along some other, more personal problems. Naoise felt calmer knowing that, though there was something he wanted to say about that âIt is alright if you let me go, break the contract and just go on our separate ways so you can forget about thisâ. He saw no problem in that, there could be space in the human ships towards Elona, or Vigil recruiters that could help him reach his goals, but Arlen answered, sternly.
âNo. You donât understand. He threatened you. And I cannot let that passâ Naoise felt heat on his cheek, and a smile forming on his lips. He was entangled in a mess he had no part in, but someone at least cared about that, and he could not ignore it. âThen I wonât let it pass either. He also threated you, and with worse words, may I add. If we are going to travel together, then you can count with my protection, Arlenâ
Once more, there was silence, but instead of tension, there was kindness and understanding. And it felt much better than ever before.

So, @disaster-bi-canach, regarding THIS POST HERE, I have things to say and add >:3c (Because of course I have)
Galahad/Tahiel (Galahiel): Normal but chaos enabler/Chaotic with a soft spot. Tahiel es >:3c incarnate, poor plantboi cant keep his hands from creating mischief whenever he goes. Also breaking the rules. And being a total tsundere. He needs to be stopped and can only be stropped by the cuddles of his sweet thicc norn husband. Who enables him. Mostly bc he is too soft.
Canach/Irene (Carene): Bastard with a crush/Accidental bastard magnet. Irene is too good, too kind, too soft, showing good things to people who donât deserve them (and Canach does not. He is an all-out jerkass before he gets his ass kicked). I am glad Canach got better, otherwise h would be a boring sassy jerk, instead of the extremely entertaining sassy jerk we all love.
Arlen/Naoise (Arloise): Reclusive pessimist/Bold optimist (who is more powerful). Arlen has lived a horrific number of traumas, and is both really shell-shocked and mistrustful. Naoise is a soft kind flower in communion with nature and the Dream. He is also the Dreamchild of a Firstborn and a Godslayer, so he can and will support his dearheart with optimism and laser beams of pure sunlight while uwuing.
Giralein/Gialinn (GiraLinn): Best friends (with the bonus of childhood friends). Even if the sylvari have no childhood, they have been together ever since forever, being part of the otherâs dream and I made them bc I love classic fairytales so donât judge me ok?
Joseph/Caesar (CaeJose): Dumbass/Oh Fuck I Guess They Are MY Dumbass. I mean they were like that when we decided to steal take them so....
I don't know if ya want any prompts from the kiss prompt list, but if you do, 50. A kiss, followed by more that trail down the jaw and neck, from the list maybe? Anyway, I hope you're doing alright dude, love ya đ
Iâm alright, just bored out of my mind. I canât go out bc Iâm allergic to basically everything, so quarantine it is for me!
Hope youâre doing fine as well. Here it goes something gay
--
It was always Naoise. The one to sought for him, the one to take the initiative. The one to push forward, with passion and devotion, and to pull Arlen with him to whenever he wanted to go. It had always been like this - and not for lack of wanton on Arlenâs part.
Because when Naoise kissed him, deep and as sweet as he was, Arlen knew there were some things in life he didnât understand, despite his vast experience traveling the world. There was a hint of melancholy and an ocean of romance in Naoiseâs kisses, as if every kiss could be their last. His moony-eyed romance wasnât something Arlen had ever felt before.
He knew of passion, he knew desire. He knew the bite of blood on his lips. He knew of scars and hands who choke and nails that claw. He knew of violent ecstasy; ending in a heap of pleasure and dirty clothes, and a broken heart.
But how could he respond to Naoiseâs love without turning it to everything he wanted to leave behind? How could he learn to love like he did, to give in without losing himself again? It was frightening, even when he grunted because Naoise climbed on top of him on their shared tent, and demanded everything and a little more.
Suddenly, however, he stopped, sitting up and glancing at Arlen, all blushing up and panting. His hands, suddenly shy, clutched at his undershirt nervously.
âArlen,â he murmured, voice trembling. Arlen blinked.
But before he could answer, Naoise went right back to his lips... and then up to his chin, leaving a hot trail down to his neck.
At first, taken aback, Arlen froze. The feeling was overwhelming, at the verge of being too much to bear. But Naoiseâs smell wasnât that of sweet poison, leaving him in a haze of pleasure, but that of a ripe fruit, ready to be biten into. And as Naoise went lower and lower, his teeth scraping at his loverâs collarbone, Arlen grabbed his chin, making him look up to him.
His eyes were bright with desire, and confusion. Arlen focused in the hundred of tiny details of his face; battlescars, places where the bark was hardened and healing, a beard like tangled roots. He was gorgeous. And young.
âDo you want this?â Arlen asked. Naoise frowned.
âI do,â he murmured, eyes low and bright pink blush on his cheeks. Arlen nodded, looking away as well.
âLetâs go slow,â he suggested, even if his low, stoic voice made it sound like an order. Naoise glanced briefly at him, and nodded as well.
âVery well.â
Carefully now, discovering every crevice on Arlenâs body, Naoise kept going down; chaste kisses gave way to curious hands, as Arlen helped him get rid of his clothes. And as Naoise kept trailing down, awakening a passion he had thought was long dead, Arlen contemplated the roof of their tent, caressing his young loverâs petals, enjoying their soft, silky texture.
It had been too long since he felt safe. It had been a whole lifetime since he felt desire, without it being paired with paralizing fear. It was love; just love, as his eyes closed and he tensed up, grunting softly as Naoiseâs kisses grew bolder, and went below the line of his pants.
It was love. And there was nothing wrong with love.
Join Me - Arloise. Arlen discovers a wounded snow leopard mum with cubs, wants Naoise to help him take care of them.
This is adorable pal right away!
Arlen never complained, nor pushed him around. So when he pulled him out of bed too early, when the sun wasnât even an insinuation, Naoise knew something was wrong.
âThis way,â Arlen ordered, hurry on his voice and nervousness in his movements. Naoise grew worried by the second.
âWhatâs going on?â he pleaded to know, trying to cover his eyes from the snowblind. âWhere are we going?â
âNear,â Arlen assured him, pressing on. Naoise, after a brief hesitation, followed suit.
On the face of a cliff, an opening insinuated its gaping mouth with broken, stone teeth. Naoise hesitated when Arlen climbed right in, offering him a hand to follow, but took it anyway. Once the darkness enveloped them, only the red light on Arlenâs thorns was left to follow. It had always weirded Naoise out - the fact that he couldnât hear his footsteps.
âHere,â he indicated, kneeling. Naoise knelt as well, and gasped upon smelling blood.
The snow leopard used to be beautiful, but was mangled beyond repair. Naoise felt his heart shrinking when she growled, trying to rise up her head to threaten them, but was too weak to do so. He felt her pulse, and felt his eyes tear up upon noticing how it faded. He wasnât sure even he could save her.
âIcebrood,â Arlen pointed out, putting his naked palm on the animalâs belly. She growled, but let him do so. The edges of the wound were frozen, blackened by frostbite.
âIs she going to turn?â Naoise whispered, trying to keep himself whole. Arlen shook his head.
âNo corruption. Yet,â he pointed out. âBut thatâs-...â
A call. More specifically, a very sharp âeep!â. Naoise looked behind Arlen, and held his breath upon seeing a little snow leopard cub calling for his mom. Arlen bit his lip, and nodded.
âYeah,â he murmured. âThat.â
A bit further behind, Naoise saw the remains of his brothers and sisters. He tried not to look too hard.
âOkay,â he said, taking a deep breath. âIâll do what I can. Please, keep the baby calm.â
âBut-...â Arlen hesitated, but Naoise gave him a desperate look.
âPlease,â he pleaded. After a brief pause, Arlen nodded. âKeep him warm.â
When he placed his own naked hand on the snow leopardâs belly, she growled once more, and then went quiet. Naoise closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. The spirits of the land were unquiet. He remembered a prayer to the Snow Leopard of the norn people, and recited it under his breath as he worked. A soft, warm light iluminated the space, and the animal closed her eyes, tired and in pain.
But it was too late. He could feel her life slipping away, and a cold wind came to get her. A big, magestic Snow Leopard in the tundra, calling for her lost daughter. And with one last, grateful glance at the two sylvari, she answered the call.
âNo, girl, please-...â he murmured. The light dimmed, and he felt like crying. âPlease, stay with us.â
The cold breeze stopped. Only a quiet sob tore Naoise appart.
âEep!â called the cub, and Naoise turned, inconsolable.
Arlen was sitting, legs crossed, and the cub nested between them. He caressed his little head with one finger, and he chased it and tried to bite it, or nurse from it. In the middle of an ocean of pain, Naoise felt the faintest light of hope. At least, until Arlen gave him a panicked look.
âWhat do I do,â he asked. Naoise wiped away his tears, and gave him a sad smile.
âNot you,â he explained. âWe. We take care of him.â

Pal. Pal, listen, I need all those romance questiosns for Arlen. Is not bc I am totally advancing in my pink boi's story, but because I need them... fos science (?)
YOU AND YOUR BIG ASS QUESTIONS WELL HERE WE GO! A DEEP DIVE IN ARLOISE!
âŁď¸ When did your OC first realise they were in love? How did they react to the realisation?
Arlen realized he was in love when he saw Naoise fullfill his life purpose, turning into a Druid on the Artesian Waters. He had been feeling stuff for a while now, but he couldnât deny it any longer then.
đ What kinds of gifts does your OC recieve from their partner(s)? What kinds of gifts do they give in return?
Naoise is all about details! He gifted Arlen a vial of perfume extracted from his petals, in case theyâre ever appart and Arlen needs comforting. Arlen is more practical - a traveling blanket, hand-to-hand combat, a hunting knife, that sort of things.
đ Describe an ideal date form them!
Arlen has never had a proper date before, so anything would be new and exciting for him! Going out, grab some drinks and something to eat, watching the moon above, walking around holding hands... anything would be great!
đ Has your OC had a bad breakup or nasty ex? If so does this have any affect on their current relationship?
Morrissey. Need I say more? Issues with intimacy, trust, and self-esteem. Heâs constantly afraid to come off as abusive or pushy, and at first seemed always on edge and scared of asking for stuff out of Naoise.
đ What do they love most about their partner(s)? What do their partner(s) love most about them?
Arlen loves Naoiseâs calmness, and the righteous way they move through life. Heâs so driven and stubborn Arlen would follow him to the end of the world. Naoise loves Arlenâs quiet happiness, and how he worries and cares for him.
đ What are some little subtle ways they show that they love each other?
Arlen works his best to be the boyfriend Naoise needs, and Naoise helps Arlen work out of his traumas and be, finally, a free sylvari.
đ Describe your OCâs partner(s) from their point of view! What do they really think about them?
Arlen thinks Naoise is like the sun. A bit blinding, but pure light shooting into his days, even the gloomier and darker ones. It might burn and it might hurt, but itâs always warm.
đ What is their favourite activity to do together (that isnât time in the bedroom)?
Traveling and discovering!
đ What do their respective families think of their relationship?
Theyâre both sylvari, and I think the Pale Tree approves(?). As for Kyrie, she thinks Arlenâs another lost orphan who needs proper food and a hug.
đ¤ Have they ever had a really bad argument where they almost broke up?
Once, Morrissey almost kills Tristan, and in turn, Naoise almost kills him. Arlen just froze and couldnât do anything, and Naoise lashed out on him out of fear and frustration. So in turn, Arlen gave himself to Morrissey one last time to keep him busy and to keep Naoise safe.
â¤ď¸ How did they end up in a relationship with their current partner(s)?
They had a mission - Naoiseâs was Dream-related, while Arlenâs was work-related. They spent a month traveling and trying to find their way, and in the way they got to meet each other proper and found out they were polar opposites, but could still make it work.
đ Which one of them would propose? How would it happen? (or write if you feel like it!)
Arlen would be thinking about it for a very long time, but would be afraid to be rushing things out. So he would ask, plain and simple, if Naoise wants it or not, and would propose later on. Heâs a practical boy you see.
đ Who is the best kisser? (if youâd like write a short smooch scene!)
Arlen, by far. Heâs demanding, and sensual, and very slow. He never lets Naoise pick up the pace, and if he gets to excited he retreats a bit and makes him slow down again, to start over. Itâs maddening, and leaves Naoise yearning.
đ Write a love letter from your OC to their partner(s). BONUS: write a reply!
Naoise:
Weâve discussed our arrangement already. The price to pay has already been settled, and I dislike constant rearranging that may come up from a change of situation.
But the situation changed and I donât feel like charging you anymore. Itâs okay. Keep your money, and Iâll fullfill my contract anyway. Your company is payment enough. I enjoy it quite a lot a bit well enough. The change of scenery is also nice.
Iâm open to suggestions if you have any. Say hi to Parsifal for me.
Yours warm regards,
Arlen.
(Naoiseâs response upon reading would be ââArrangement?â Arlen, weâve been dating for a week.â And Arlen would be very confused cuz yeah, they are, but they still hadnât settled the contract!)
đ Give a random fact about their daily life together!
Theyâre still figuring things out. Arlen is very kept to himself, and sharing his life is... weird. Like, really sharing, not being obligated to share. Having the choice is nice, and itâs surprising to him that his choice is to actually do so instead of running away.
Can't decide, so these for your fave - How did they meet? Who confessed their feelings first? What was their first official date?
I will answer for Arlen and Naoise cuz I feel like I havenât talked enough about them and they deserve it so much!
Naoiseâs @pact-mom-kyrieââs doing~
How did they meet?
Naoise had a duty to fullfill, and to do so, he needed a bodyguard and a guide. Arlen works as both, so Naoise hired him. They didnât see eye to eye at first, especially because messing with Arlen meant, at the time, messing with Morrissey as well, and thatâs not something anyone wants, ever. But as time passed and they had to talk and explain things about each other, they became friends.
Who confessed their feelings first?
Arlen let Naoise set the pace of their relationship - both because Naoiseâs the one with less experience, and because Arlen didnât want to pressure him into anything. Heâs very wary of never coming off as abusive or pushy.
What was their first official date?
They havenât had much time for dates, since they arrived with Defiant Heart in the middle of the war against Kralkatorrik. But they steal time from the war to go have some private time. Now that Kralkatorrikâs dead and thereâs peace on Tyria -for now-, they can have a proper date at last. Naoise is the only one who knows how a date works tho(?)
