Arithmancy
Hermione’s favourite subject, this is the process of predicting the future through numbers. It’s also called numerology. It comes from two Greek words: ‘arithmo’ meaning number and ‘mancy’ meaning prophecy.

If you think about it, Harry probably can't do math or any other muggle subject past 4th grade, because the Dursleys only had him during summer and wouldn't DARE to spend any more money on him with tutors and stuff. And I'll assume that Hogwarts barely taught any math because ✨ Magic School✨ mainly for magic.
Of course we know math.
I believe Harry Potter completed the fifth grade of primary school with the muggles, but regardless, math and science is sprinkled throughout many Hogwarts classes. You truly think potions would not cover measurements and ratios? That charms would not teach students to account for factors such as wind velocity? That herbology would not cover the biological concepts of photosynthesis?
And for those with an aptitude at mathematics, there are classes such as advanced potions, arithmancy, and magical theory (which draws many parallels to physics).
I assure you Hogwarts has a very competitive curriculum.
Dice are too discreet for my liking. I want continuous dice. Spherical dice where there’s a 1 and 0 on opposite sides and the magnitude depends on where the top of the dice is. Or even better introduce positives and negatives, so the poles are 1 and -1, and the “equator” is 0. And why should we stop at just real numbers? Have the north and South Pole be 1 and -1, the midpoint on either side being 0, and then have a prime meridian-type line where the poles are i and -i. This gets you a complex number with the magnitude of the real and imaginary components being less than one, then you can either have the die have different extremes (3,-3,3i,&-3i for example) or have a discrete die to scale the whole number up. What would it be used for? I don’t fucking know, but I’m sure I could fit it into d&d. If I did a custom d&d campaign I’d love to be an arithmancer, and have mathematics basically being a branch of sorcery. And using continuous dice would be a cool detail.

Remembrall '98: Hermione Granger
Congratulations, Hogwarts Class of 1998! Please reflect on your experience at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by answering some questions about your time at this esteemed institution.
Name: Hermione J. Granger
Favorite Memory: I have so many wonderful memories! I don’t think I could pick just one favorite. I really enjoyed going back to Hogwarts to finish up my final year and my education. I also really liked some of the simpler moments like reading and chatting with friends in the chairs by the fire in the common room.
Favorite Class: My favorite class was Arithmancy; I took it starting in my third year and continued through the rest of my education.
Least Favorite Class: Divination – I now have respect for the subject. However, it was just never for me. I prefer something more concrete with less guesswork. For instance, Arithmancy has a similar undertone and is far more logical.
Favorite Teacher: Oh, good question! I had so many wonderful professors; some of my favorites were Professor Vector, McGonagall, Lupin, and of course Hagrid!
Least Favorite Teacher: Professor Umbridge, if you could even call her a professor!
What advice would you give to first years? Take action for the things you believe in! You can make a difference. That and read Hogwarts: A History.
What would you change about your time at Hogwarts? I do not think I would change much. Some things certainly did not go as planned; however, I think the experiences and challenges that we faced helped shape who we are now. In addition, they furthered both the magical and non-magical communities.
Favorite Reading Spot at Hogwarts: I would have to say my favorite places to read are in the library, by the fire in the common room, and weather permitting, outside by the Black Lake.
Most Underrated Part of Hogwarts: The house-elves – they are both underrated and underappreciated. If more students knew who’s doing the cooking and cleaning in the castle, I think they would feel differently and would be a lot more grateful.
Best Gift for Hogwarts Students: A homework planner!
What advice would you give to seventh years? Study for your NEWTs! Even though Harry and Ron were exempt, a lot of the material is so useful, and employers want to know you have foundational skills.
