Yes, it is being praised and talked about a lot, especially because of Tao's performance (and deservingly so, she was phenomenal in that scene!), but I feel like we need to talk about how Kento was such a good partner for her.

Yes, Usagi's screams made me feel really desperate and I wasn't even there, and yes her clinging to him with every fiber of her being made me feel so tense that I think I'll need painkillers for the chronic pain I'll get on my jaw.

But it was the desperation slowly sinking into Arisu's eyes at the sight of her that kind of sold the scene for me.

It was that look in the precise moment where he realized that it was the right thing and he had to do that (there was no escaping) but the understanding that doing it would harm and break the one person he loves the most. It was that look of a kind of heartbreak that can only happen when you love deeply enough to understand that sometimes even the right thing will make the people around you suffer.

The way he started speaking so confidently and looked at her as if she would just say yes and keep going but then it slowly starts to fade when Usagi looks at him with so much pain and desperation, like finally realize what he's actually doing. That little heartbeat where he's just dead silent watching her start to crumble and you can almost see the regret sinking in, ugh!

And then the way he holds her until the very last second, like he's trying to make up for this decision, the way he holds her so gently and how everytime he let go of her to push the others out he keeps bringing it back to hug her, like my god that is love in it's more pure form!!!
