after some promising male sightings, i finally managed to find my first female Argiope bruennichi in a very long time. her massive web spanned like four different bushes, and i even found the obligatory Argyrodes inquiline on it, although i couldn't get decent photos of her without damaging the home carefully built by her infinitely bigger life partner

This little guy has been hanging out by our backdoor and has got a very interesting web!! What type of spider are they? North Florida for ID purposes.

Henlom, yess, this is a Yellow Garden Spider (Argiope aurantia), family Araneidae.

a new Argiope species for me, but one that may be familiar to folks in the Americas. the Banded Garden Spider is native to North and South America, but is now also found in parts of Africa, Europe, and Australasia.

Argiope florida is a large orbweaver endemic to dry scrubland habitats in Florida and a few other parts of the southeast. Like several other Argiope species, they have silvery coloration that reflects solar radiation and prevents the spider from overheating while sitting exposed in its web.
