And suddenly I was so relieved. He walked into the room and I saw pimples on his face. He wasn’t so perfect, and he wasn’t so unreachable. He was a boy, and he had pimples.. Whenever I tell people about my view on such blemishes they don’t believe me. Girls especially are skeptical because they think “of course if other girls have zits you will be feel better in comparison to them.” It’s not that though, I just like the reminder that he to she is just another human. I love knowing that even though he walks and talks like he thinks he’s the hottest guy in the room, he doesn’t. He can’t. I know because I’ve felt that same insecurity walking around wondering “does it look worse now?” “Is my hair covering enough?” Or wishing that no one will point it out. I know the feeling and without even speaking a word to him I know what’s hiding underneath his wall. So now he’s not so hard to imagine and he’s not so irresistible. And that, is a relief.
