#arcade sekai

i first got the idea for arcade sekai as a whole in early spring of 2024, far before creating an account on tumblr. there was zero expectation for it to turn into such a big project, let alone one that would catch the attention of over a hundred people! the story and its characters have evolved a lot during the year; it’s especially notable when i compare them to the first concepts i had in mind.

it’s nice to see the improvement in both my art and myself as a person.

arcade sekai and zero+-ox couldn’t be made possible without the community input — after all, this project was released into the open with other people in mind. i want arcade sekai to be a concept everyone can help develop! a lot of thoughts voiced by you all have made it into my notes as canon facts.

i created player one, beloved odaka momoko, as a reflection of myself at a time when i wasn’t doing too well. most of the other characters take on the characteristics of some other people i know… it was merely a project done for my comfort, a way for me to pour out my memories and transform them into something more fun. arcade sekai then slowly grew into something much bigger…

thank you so much for accepting momoko. by extension, thank you so much for accepting myself. you accepted me at my most vulnerable, for which i am nothing but most grateful. ♡♡

happy first anni everyone !!!!!!! ♡♡♡ im so happy that i was able to see the development of this wonderful project, let alone start working on it myself. i first got into it when piru was introducing it to me and asked me if i wanted to help making a certain char, obviously i couldn't say no to that ! especially with how interesting the story is and has become overtime !!!!!!

i love momoko and the entire arcaseka cast with all my heart, theyve all been part of my brain for a while now, especially momoko for self explanatory reasons..

its lovely to see how far along we are in this journey, and though ive mostly been a behind the scenes guy, i always try my best to put as much effort into this as i can ! im honestly so glad that this project is getting the attention it deserves, and i sincerely hope that it will keep gaining popularity !!!! ☆

im also very proud of our lovely piru, THE arcaseka creator, youre such a wonderful person, and even with the huge break youve taken from arcaseka, you still didnt fully give up on it, which we all appreciate you for !!!!!!!!!! im happy that we can continue our arcaseka journey together, hopefully for many more annis !!!!!!!!!!!!! ♡♡

some things to be excited for in the future are !!!!! an alnst au, cardset ideas, more story and lore related stuff, MERCH ☆ (in case you haven't seen the first examples, join our discord group!), and perhaps a special someone who may or may not join the zerocon cast soon!, an oc ive made specifically for this project.

piru and i are now going to use tags for our posts, its being #mod p1 ☆ and mine being #mod 94 ☆ !!!

in a few days, i am finally getting my hands on a computer! (a laptop, but still a computer!) this means i can hopefully start developing the 2d models, provided i figure out how to pirate live2d cubism… help? anyone?? ;;;

as to using what engine will the actual vnovels be done on, i’m not quite sure. i was thinking ren’py, but if anyone has any alternatives, please let me know!

i’d appreciate any tips or prsk assets useful for recreating a sucessful catfish unit, actually.

mainsto is currently in writing process.

the backbone of the storyline is more or less laid out, with the plot stretching out for 3 arcs so far. i’m not quite sure what to do with the story then, but i’ll surely get an idea if there will be demand for a 4th arc.

the designs for the sekailoids and momoko are already done for both pre- and post- 3rd anniversary!

as for the music aspect, currently there’s 5 completed tracks to be used as background music (thank you mochi ♡) and a few lyric concepts for comm songs in my notes.

prsk doesn’t localize their voicelines for the en server, so a jpn voiced version of the vnovel is in consideration as an addition to the eng dub! help appreciated!

if anyone has any ideas as to what they would like to see in the arcade sekai / zerocon project (or they have something to offer or contribute), don’t hesitate to reach out! this is a passion project of mine that greatly relies on the connection with others!
