In a desperate attempt to distract myself during my latest rewatch of the Umbara arc, I took some screenshots of the characters.

I didn't post the last couple of chapters snippets here, oops, but its done now. The story follows Fives and Echo as well as some Clone OC on their journey from Cadets to the Battle of Kamino.

“ETA!” Shouted Blitz. “Kamino, where are you?!” 

Blitz’s panicked voice sent a chill down his spine, a chill made worse by the rumbling noise of steal on steal. That’s when he saw them, the droidekas rolling in on his squad’s position. Pinned down behind the shipping crates there was no way his team could fire on them, but they could hear them.  They’d been trained to listen for that sound.  Trained to listen for it among the chaos of other noise, because firing before they got their shields up might just save your life.  It was the sound of metal, the sound of death.

“What is it, Fives?”

He hesitated for only a moment, then pulled the holo-projector out of his pocket and handed it to the Captain. “I wasn’t lying to you, sir,  I wasn’t sure I still had it,” Fives said, pleased that his voice sounded calm and sincere, “But that’s the holo you were asking about, sir.”

Howzer’s eyes widened. As he took the holo projector and pressed play.  “They both watched as a blonde haired clone executed the same stunt Kamino had yesterday.”

“Rain was blond?!” 

“Yes, sir. Is that significant?”

He frowned, “I don’t know.” But something in Howzer’s expression made Fives wonder.

“It’s just…I remember a lot more blonds when I was younger and they seemed to…”

“Disappear?” Howzer supplied. 

Fives swallowed then nodded. 

Rex watched it happen a thousand times in a thousand different realities. He hated this kriffing place. He hated that the Force Temple had brought him here to this strange place, and he hated these kriffing portals that kept showing it to him. He knew if he saw it one more time he'd disobey Kenobi’s strict orders and pull Fives through the gateway before he could watch it happen again. This last one was too much, knowing that Echo had witnessed it. Hearing him cry out felt like a blaster to the chest. Echo, Kix, and Jesse hurried over, but it was already too late.

Rex unholstered his DC-17 and changed settings, like Fox should have done, and waited. It would show him again and he would be ready.

Rex: Lost your helmets?

Fives: Yes sir, it was my fault, sir. I-

Echo: No, the blame is entirely-

Rex: I don't want to hear it.

Rex: I've got a mission for you.

Echo and Fives: Yes, sir

Rex: Climb that ridge and tell me what you see?

Fives: Isn't the 212 over that ridge? What are you expecting-

Rex: Fives, for once just do what I say and don't question it. For arguing now I'm sending you up there alone.

Fives: but that's not standard pro-

Rex: Now Fives! I want a full report.

Fives: Yes sir.

???

...

Rex: so?

Fives: I wish I could unsee that, Rex.
