Happy #ARCAugust! I donāt have a set TBR for this month as Iām such a mood reader, but I do hope to dive into all of these upcoming releases! I also have some NetGalley ARCs to read too!

Upcoming Reading Plans
Hello hello hello!
So from July 24-30 I will be participating in the booktubeathon, my tbr video will my up tomorrow on my channel. Iām so excited for this! It will be the 3rd booktubeathon Iāve participated in - I did it both times last year, the summer and winter ones. The last 2 readathons Iāve done have been 24-hour ones, so this will be way less intense and Iām definitely happy about that lol. I donāt think Iāll be doing the video challenges because I wonāt have a camera until Friday. I filmed my tbr video on my phone, but I really donāt want to keep using my phone for my videos all week :/ But I plan on completing all of the reading challenges! Yay!
I will also be doing the Make Me Read It readathon, hosted by Tea And Titles, which takes place from August 6-13. This will be my first time participating in this particular readathon, and I am so excited about it! because itās interactive it makes it much different than other readathons. If you are interested in choosing what I read for this readathon, make sure to add me as a friend on Goodreads so that I can invite you to the poll. Iāll be going on a road trip with my mom the 12-14th, so I will be able to get a lot of reading done while we are in the car! Hopefully I can knock out a lot of books in the days before the trip too though.
Finally, August is #ARCAugust which I will also be participating in throughout the month. I have A FREAKING LOT of arcs that I have been procrastinating on, and that fact has been haunting me for weeks. I know that I will feel soooo much better and like a weight has been lifted if I read all of these ARCs next month.
Are you participating in any of these reading events? What are your reading plans for the next couple of months?

I just kept sitting here and thinking about how is it, that I am reading so much recently and yet there is no change in my tbr numbers.
There was a change.
I read "Throne of Glass" by Sarah J. Maas, because I guess I am just reading everything by her and then going "yeah, it wasn't very good". However, this was worse than ACOTAR, because at least with ACOTAR I enjoyed the excitement I got from reading, this was just way milder, at least it is off my tbr.
And then I read "Fence, Vol. 5: Rise" by C.S. Pacat and it rocked my world, because I kinda disliked the series up to this point, but this was lowkey fun.
I am currently 3 years into dodging watching breaking bad with my partner (we watched 3 episodes and I used my english major skills to argue that the whole story is just about them being trans).
There probably won't be any big updates for a bit, because I am allergic to reading off my tbr, instead I just grab all the arcs and then read random library loans (they are USUALLY based on my tbr (the digital ones at least))

Do accept my humble offering.
I read "The Winter Garden" by Alexandra Bell in under 24 hours greatly sacrificing the last vacation day with my partner (such is life, homies, sometimes you make choices), so it is off my tbr (it sucked ass). But at least I am using it for the toothmark challenge!
August TBR (Disneyathon and ARC August!)
My August TBR is a little intimidating. Check out my latest blog post to see all the books I'm going to try and read this month, as I attempt ARC August and the Disney Readathon
I may have bitten off more than I can chew.
This month, I want to participate in two challenges:
ARC August, where you try and trim down your TBR and read as many ARCs as you can (more info here)
The Disney-readathon, where you pick a team and try to complete challenges to earn points (more info here)
I know that I wonāt be able to reach all my goals, but Iām going to spend the next monthā¦

I go in spurts of sharing my monthly to-be-read piles, mainly because Iām such a big mood reader and I tend to read more than what I list on my published TBRs ā including this August TBR. I have a few books on hold from the library, so what I actually read will largely revolve around what books Iām able to get. I already have a few books out from the library that I need or want to finish ā although my library is actually extending due dates past the usual 2 week deadline. With the fall publishing season right around the corner, I also have a few books that I need to read for review. I am really excited to be once again participating in ARC August, an annual readathon hosted by Octavia and Shelley of Read. Sleep. Repeat. This TBR will be split into my āregularā TBR and my TBR for ARC August.Ā
Library & Owned Books TBR
The Heir Affair ( The Royal We #2) by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan ā After rereading The Royal We last week, I couldnāt wait any longer to read the sequel and I decided to checkout a digital copy from the library. Iāve had a hold for a physical copy of The Heir Affair for over a month now, but I think my country library system is a little behind on receiving new releases. Iām currently reading this one & loving it so far ā if my physical copy does come in soon enough, Iāll probably transition to the digital to physical copy⦠but letās be honest, Iāll probably will be finished reading it by then!
The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare ā I hauled The Duchess Deal in lastās month library haul, so I wonāt go into too much detail. I do plan on reading this one ASAP, although itās not due until September. I took a little break from romance in the second half of July, but I know Iāll be ready to jump back in ASAP.
The Worst Man by Mia Sosa ā The Worst Man was also part of my July library haul, but I know once Iām really back into the romance reading mood, this will be one of the first books I pick up!
Regretting You by Colleen Hoover ā After really enjoying Verity last month, Iāve decided to give Colleen Hooverās another go, starting with Regretting You. So many of my friends have loved this one and it seems like a really great blend of YA and adult romance.Ā
Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid ā Such a Fun Age has been on my TBR since it first came out ,and Iāve noticed more and more people picking it up recently. Iāve been craving adult fiction lately, so it seemed like the perfect time to finally pick it up!Ā
Iām Supposed to Protect You from All This by Nadja Spiegelman ā Iāve been reading more non-fiction in 2020 than ever before. My mom actually picked Iām Supposed to Protect You from All This from the library, and it got my attention because Nadja Spiegelman is the daughter of Maus creator, Art Spiegelman. However, the novel focuses on Nadjaās relationship with her mother, New YorkerĀ art director FranƧoise Mouly.
American RoyalsĀ by Katharine McGee (reread) ā I may wait to read American Royals until September, but I am definitely planning for a reread within the next 2 months before I read the sequel,Ā Majesty.Ā
ARC August TBR
ARC August is an annual readathon dedicated to reading advance reader copies in nearly any form ā digital or physical, upcoming releases & already published titles included. The timing of ARC August is often an extra motivator for book reviewers, since the fall is typically the biggest publishing season of the year. I have 4 books on my ARC August TBR that are all coming out in September. I may or may not pick up more, depending on if I receive any more review requests from publishers or if I deep dive into Netgalley. Iāve really only read 2 books from Netgalley, but since I am becoming a bigger fan of my Kindle, I may start reading more digital review copies.
Recommended for You by Laura Silverman (Release Date: September 1, 2020) ā Recommended for You is my most anticipated read of the month! I feel so fortunate to be on the blog tour for Recommended For Youā my review will be shared on the blog in early September ā especially because this book might just my most anticipated YA contemporary of the fall. The book follows teen bookseller, Shoshanna, and her rivalry with fellow bookseller, Joshua, as they compete to sell the most books during the holiday season. I plan on treating myself and reading during my birthday next week!Ā
Punching the Air by Ibi Zoboi and Yusef Salaam (Release Date: September 1, 2020) ā As soon as I saw that Punching the Air was co-written by Ibi Zoboi and Yusef Salaam, I instantly wanted to read it. Iāve been meaning to read another book by Ibi Zoboi, and Yusef Salaam is a member of the āExonerated Five.ā The book follows, Amal, a Black, Muslim teen who is wrongfully sent to prison and depicts the reality of the school to prison pipeline.Ā
Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson (Release Date: September 15, 2020) ā Grown is another extremely relevant read I canāt wait to read this month. Tiffany D. Jacksonās upcoming releases follows a Black teen and aspiring singer, Enchanted, whose life is transformed when she is picked up by a legendary R&B singer and later finds herself involved in a murder mystery.Ā
Shine by Jessica Jung (Release Date: September 29, 2020) ā I instantly wanted to read Jessica Jungās Shine after I read its Gossip Girl meets Crazy Rich Asians premise. The book follows Korean American Rachelās dream & reality of being a K-pop star. I think the only book Iāve read with a K-pop protagonist is Maurene Gooās Somewhere Only We Know, so Iām looking forward to picking Shine up.Ā

August 2020 TBR ft. ARCĀ August I go in spurts of sharing my monthly to-be-read piles, mainly because Iām such a big mood reader and I tend to read more than what I list on my published TBRs - including this August TBR.
Monthly TBR - August 2020 & ARC August
Monthly TBR ā August 2020 & ARCĀ August
What started as an experiment on finding a reading system that works for me has turned into me once again falling in love with a TBR List. For 8 months in 2019 I created a TBR List and read books off ofĀ those lists. Some months I was successful and didnāt deviate and some months I had to add books or take books away. All in all though I really enjoyed having a structured list to go off of soā¦

#ARCAugust 2020 | Time for My FirstĀ Participation
ARC August is one yearly returning challenge that I have known about for years but have never participated in before. Mainly because I generally just donāt have enough ARCs to make it worth while. However this week I counted my arcs and I have 14 left. While I would be able to manage to read them without ARC August in the months the review is suppose to go up, collectively working ahead is notā¦
