TPD medics under went extensive training yesterday for downed officer and counter ambush situations. MMX was privileged to work along side TPD providing training support and moulage. This drill was designed to elevate stress and fatigue for up to five continuous minutes while the rescuer properly secured a TQ and conducted a quick MARCH patient assessment to three different patients. During the drill the rescuer must also maintain focus on pistol accuracy at various distances then apply the TQ and CASEVAC the patient to the CCP. Students were told that the TQ and other injuries would need to be reassessed at the CCP. Students focused primarily on the Massive Hemorrhage portion of the CoTCCC patient assessment algorithm with tourniquet application.
