Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/4 tsp nutmeg. 1/2 cup milk. 2 large eggs. 2 tbsp melted butter. 1 cup grated apple about 2 apples. Vegetable oil for frying.

Instructions: Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt in a mixing bowl. Whisk the eggs, melted butter, and milk in a different bowl. Mixing until just combined, add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Add the grated apple and fold. Preheat vegetable oil to 350F 175C in a deep fryer or large pot. Drop heaping spoonfuls of the doughnut batter into the heated oil, and cook for two to three minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, remove the doughnuts and put them on a plate covered with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Not required: While still warm, dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.
