With this simple slow cooker apple crisp, you can enjoy the warm flavors of apples and cinnamon. This dessert is great for any event and fills your home with a lovely smell as it cooks slowly to perfection.
Ingredients: 6 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and sliced. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1 cup old-fashioned oats. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: Toss the sliced apples with the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl. Mix the brown sugar, softened butter, oats, flour, and salt in a different bowl until the mixture is crumbly. In the bottom of the slow cooker, put half of the apple mixture. Put half of the oat mix on top of the apples in the slow cooker. Do it again with the rest of the apples and oats. For 4 to 6 hours, or until the apples are soft, cover and cook on low heat. If you want, you can serve it warm with vanilla ice cream.
