Apple IOS update 26.4 adds age verification for the UK
Apple users can verify their age by providing credit cards or scanning their ID.

āApple now requires users in the UK to verify their age with the launch of iOS 26.4.ā
In a support page on Appleās website, the company says users must confirm that theyāre over 18 to āuse certain services or features, or take certain actions on their account.ā
In order to verify your account, you have to scan your face or use your ID, though āIf a user already has an Apple account, the company may use a linked payment method to verify that theyāre over 18.ā
If verification is not done, child safety protections will be put in
āincluding features that block adult content on the web and blur messages containing nudity.ā
āOfcom, the UKās communications regulator, called the move a āreal win for children and familiesā in a statement to the Financial Times.ā
āApple is not required to implement age checks under U.K. law, as the Online Safety Act does not apply to app stores or operating systems.
Ofcom is conducting a report on whether to expand the act to include them, due in January 2027. ā
Need a reason to boycott apple this year? well guess what here's a pretty good reason to do so they're actually trying to sell us AI therapy now check this out this is from the App Store!
that doesn't seem like it's trying to be predatory at all one of those literally says AI friend and they claim they want to be safe for children somehow I don't think so if you buy an iPhone this year yeah this is why I'm getting rid of mine PS they're trying to sneak software like this into flip phones now so be wary double check triple check and quadruple check them!

NOT GO OFF BECAUSE SOUNDS AND HAPTICS HAS DECIDED TO RESET YOUR ALARM TO ENTIRELY SILENT WITHOUT YOU DOING ANYTHING?????
