Thinking about how Apple Corps initially came to be because of how Robert Fraser got Paul McCartney interested in Rene Magritte's paintings, and how Robert once dropped by Paul's house to deliver a Magritte painting to him personally because he knew how much Paul would like it, and Paul in fact *did* like it so much that he wanted a green apple to represent his and the Beatles' new company, and so many years later the Apple Corps logo ended up inspiring another company headed by Steve Jobs and even now, even now Apple Corps itself is still running and thriving and so in a way, a part of Robert Fraser lives on through that. I find myself wondering sometimes if Paul ever stops and reminisces about his friend when he looks at that green apple, you know?

"In 1965 Paul moved out of the Ashers' house to a St Johnβs Wood 'mansion' but in 1968 he and Jane broke up after she discovered him in bed with another girl. Does Peter wish his friend and his sister had stayed together? (Jane famously refuses to discuss her ex-romance.) 'I donβt indulge in any such speculation. I stay completely out of that,' he says diplomatically. By that time Peter and Gordon's star had faded and he was working as chief A&R man at The Beatles' company Apple. 'He and Jane did break up but I still had my job at Apple and Paul wanted me there.' Was it an awkward time? 'I donβt really remember but I guess it all appeared as separate matters to me. Paul and I donβt see each other very often but when we do itβs very friendly.' The last time they met, he recalls, 'I said to him 'Do you realise itβs 50 years since you gave us World Without Love? If Iβve forgotten to thank you in the interim, let me thank you now. Who knows what my career would be were it not for that song?'" - Peter and Gordon member Peter Asher reveals his Paul McCartney pension by Martin Nethercutt, May 8 2018

there are catheters everywhere with the eyes to see or whatever the saying is
We sat around my kitchen table. John took a biro, drew a diagram and said 'This is what Apple's all about.' The word Apple appeared in the centre with various divisions, including records, shop, electronics, films and foundation, radiating out.
'This is where you come in,' he said, pointing to the word 'foundation'. 'I want you to set up a school.'
Trying to keep calm, I asked him to explain what he had in mind. He hadn't thought beyond the broad idea of a school embracing the most child-centred of regimes which his children and those of his friends could attend. The timing was right: I was just finishing some research, so I said yes.
Arrangements were made to incorporate me into the structure of Apple and I began to formulate plans. My priority was to come up with a scheme for a school that was not simply for children of rich parents. Meetings were arranged, the outline of a steering committee established and numerous properties visited.
Apple's accountants argued that the school was not a viable proposition, since the required funds were simply not available. Paul McCartney, whom I had known well since the third year of secondary school, did not share John's blind faith in the project. Feeling discouraged, I made contingency plans. I had to be careful to prevent disappointment turning into depression. When taking on extravagant gaols I had to justify the value of any lesser achievement. In the end it all came to nothing, but I persuaded myself that it had been worthwhile. I had made numerous contacts and there was the possibility that one day the project would be revived.
