âFirstly, weâre all part of the Indian Ocean Commission, along with Seychelles, Madagascar, and La RĂ©union- mainly due to us geographically close, speak fluent French, and get things done in our pocket of the world.
Currently, the secretariatâs located in my home, so the five of us meet annually, to talk about political, diplomatic, economic and commercial cooperation, along with trying to sustain our ecosystems- endemic ecosystems are both a blessing and a curse!
But- under colonial rule, I really didnât know her all too well, being secluded with Seychelles and RĂ©union until I switched colonizers. Such a shame that out of all the Indian Ocean countries, sheâs the one I know the least.â
