Do you have a headcanon for how Artie and Franny met each other for the first time?
OOHHHH my Gosh yes I do!!Okay, well Francis was very young, right? And he used to live in more of a coastal village because living by a body of water back in the olden days was a really good thing! Some of his people went out fishing and just ended up making their way to England! The villagers were so excited that they came back to get more villagers to share with experience with! Now, of course after hearing the tales of a new land with trees and fish and little animals, Francis wanted to go! So he hopped in a rickety boat with a few other men and made the 5 hour paddling journey to the coast of England! He and his people did some exploring, after resting, and they ended up getting separated. Francis didn’t care since he was pretty self sufficient and he LOVED nature and pretty things so he had a blast in the forest. He saw rabbits and birds and worms, which he didn’t like but once night fell, he found himself to be terribly lost. Like, really really lost. It didn’t help that he could barely see a foot in front of his face and he kept stepping on jagged branches in his bare feet. After an hour or so, he heard crying. For a moment or so he ignored it but Fran hates when people cry so he followed the sound, ending up in a partial clearing and nearly stepped on a little Artie. Arthur had looked up at him, he was startled but he had no idea who- or what- Francis was. At first he could have sworn he was a faerie because 1. Artie had never seen someone dressed the way Francis was dressed and 2. He was speaking something so odd. Francis repeatedly tried to ask Arthur if he was okay but he didn’t understand. Latin languages weren’t the same as Celtic languages. Francis kinda plopped down next to him and just hugged him until he calmed down and eventually the two just fell asleep. From there on, a beautiful friendship sprouted! The next morning Arthur had woken him up and tried to take him to a place to pick berries but Francis wanted to go back to the beach to show off his new friend to his villagers! Neither of their plans worked out so they ended up weaving flower crowns and playing with bugs. They were the cutest children and once they learned a common language, Artie was forced to learn Latin, they had SO much to talk about! And even better, once they developed their own languages, they were eager to teach eachother though Francis was more of an arse about it then Arthur was. Fran once taught Artie to say ‘You’re a bitch!’ in French and convinced him that it was something nice you said to someone...It didn’t end up too well(I just support their love sooo much because they have known eachother for hundreds of years! And you cannot teach French history without getting into British history and the other way around)
