Also, don’t worry, I’ve learned when I’ve needed to take a step back from the BNHA fandom when it gets too much. I’ve got a pretty supportive network of mutuals and anons though who help me through the hard times too.

(And don’t worry, I’ve been pretty open about my life on this blog XD I don’t mind it getting a little personal!)

It was an attitude I was around when I was growing up sadly (say you think you’re good at something and you get looked down upon because your showing off :/ It wasn’t a fun atmosphere to say the least, especially when the traits you were proud of kept getting mocked).

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something in other places too.

And yeah, for me changing how I viewed myself really helped me get to a better mental place (and well taking anti-depressants but they don’t just work on there own). You don’t realize how much of the bad things you have internalized until you do and how unhealthy it is for you until you make an active change.
