If you’re a sonic artist, chances are I’ve probably tried to get in contact with you. What started out as just me wanting to make my AU the best it could be spiraled into something horrible, and made me someone I barely even recognize anymore. Over the years, hundreds of sonic artists have been contacted through Tumblr and Twitter in a bid to have as many people contribute to the AU as possible. I didn’t give any false pretenses, but I still intruded upon people’s DM’s while under the impression I was making the story better and better. I was being obsessive, very obsessive, and although almost all situations ended respectfully, I could still feel like I was judged. I looked desperate, obsessive, insecure about my own abilities. Yes, I never insulted anyone who said no, but that’s basic human decency to be nice when something is declined. I contributed to making a lot of people more wary about other people, and I’m very sorry for everyone who was affected by my incessant asking. I was so lost in the idea of making everything perfect, that I forgot that some people don’t want to be messaged, some people don’t want to do stuff like this, and I need to focus on that. People have their own lives to live, and they can’t just drop everything to help a stranger with some sonic project. I was wrong to ask hundreds of people for help on something that I probably should’ve only asked one or two people about, because it was obsessive, intrusive, and disruptive. I’m sorry for the disruption caused to everyone over the years, and I hope you can forgive me in due time. Thank you for reading. I will continue to leave those who have said no alone, and will not be incessant when talking to new people.
