“Do you have a reservation for tonight sir?” the receptionist asked.
“Table for two under Jay Park,” Jay said.
The receptionist checked her list and confirmed Jay’s reservation. She promptly led you to an alcove which provided some privacy away from the other patrons. A waiter was already there and he pulled the chair for you to sit.
“Madam, Sir, our menu for tonight. I’m Chad and I’ll be your server for tonight. Feel free to peruse the menu and once you’re ready to order, just raise your hand to call my attention and I’ll be with you momentarily.”
You looked over the menu and everything was hecking expensive. You knew Jay could afford it but the two of you rarely ever go to restaurants like this.
“Jay, are you sure about this? It’s too expensive here,” you told him.
“Babe it’s fine. I’ve been busy the past few weeks and let’s just say this is me making it up to you,” Jay replied with a grin.
He didn’t really have to but nevertheless, the gesture made you feel warm inside.
Jay raised his hand and mentioned your orders once Chad arrived. He got a 2010 pinot noir and a small platter of charcuterie for the appetizer to munch on while you wait for your mains.
Chad brought the wine and showed the two of you the label to confirm that it was a 2010 wine and opened it infront of you, his biceps stretching out the sleeves of his uniform as he pulled the cork with a pop. He poured your glass first and you gestured for him to stop then he poured Jay a glass.
Jay noticed the show he was putting on and how he was being more attentive towards you and it was starting to annoy him. The ring was already weighing heavily in his pocket and he really wanted his plan to push through tonight. He breathed in and out slowly to calm himself and thought that maybe he was just overthinking things.
“How’s the food?” Jay asked.
You let out a groan of satisfaction. “Really good so far. I’m not a fan of red wine but this one really pairs well with the selection of cheeses and meats on this charcuterie board.”
Jay chuckled at your reaction. He knew how much you love food and if you were satisfied, then so was he.
Chad arrived later on with your mains. He served your salmon first before serving Jay his tenderloin steak. He offered to cut your salmon steak for you which you promptly refused. He then asked if you needed more wine and he poured you more first before pouring Jay’s which was just as empty as yours.
Jay tried to gloss over the fact that Chad was once again trying to get your attention but he was glad you weren’t returning any of it. He cut his steak and gave it a try. It was so good that he forgot momentarily his previous pangs of jealousy. He still wanted to prove a point though and he cut a piece for you to try.
You took the bite Jay offered from his fork and you closed your eyes at how good it was. “I think your order is better than mine.”
“We can switch. I don’t mind,” Jay offered.
You shook your head but Jay knew you. He knew you would steal from his plate and he cut his steak into pieces to make it easier for you.
“Ooof. I’m stuffed,” you declared.
“I bet you are. I think you ate half of my steak,” Jay chided.
You mouthed an oops which made both you giggle.
Chad came back to remove your plates and served some chocolate covered strawberries. You looked at him quizzically as you were sure Jay didn’t order dessert.
“It’s on the house,” Chad said with a wink.
You gave him a tight grin and uttered thank you.
Jay did not miss the wink Chad gave you and he munched on the strawberries grumpily. He for sure now wasn’t in the mood to pop you the question.
He got the bill and paid and you sensed his distress and you linked your arm in his as you left the restaurant. “Hey, what’s wrong?” you prodded.
He didn’t answer and you let him be. You got in the car and he was still obviously sulking and you didn’t want him driving while he was still mad.
You put your hand on his. “Jay,” you said, trying to coax him.
“I just can’t believe he tried flirting with you. In front of me, your boyfriend. Like I wasn’t there. And what kind of name even is Chad? His name is as douchey as his behavior,” he said, unable to look at you.
“Babe, you know I only have eyes for you.”
“I know. I guess I was just feeling territorial.”
You let out a fake gasp, not at all surprised by his reaction. “Well, you better stop sulking then or I’ll drive.”
“I’m not sulking. Plus you finished like 3/4 of the bottle. So there’s no way you’re driving,” he replied, a small smile starting to form on his lips.
The drive home went by in comfortable silence and Jay knew that it wouldn’t matter to you where he proposed so he would just have to do it on a different day.
-------
Simon burst into Jay’s office. “How did the proposal go? Are you engaged now? I was waiting all night!”
Jay told him about what happened last night and thought he shouldn’t do the proposal if his feelings were clouded with jealousy. Simon agreed, saying he had a point then asked when he planned to do it.
“She wouldn’t mind if I proposed here, right?” Jay asked.
Simon also knew you wouldn’t mind and he offered to help Jay set up the balcony. They filled it with bouquets upon bouquets of flowers and battery powered tea lights to be placed later.
Jay sent you a text asking you to drop by the AOMG building after work. You were worried something was up but he just said it’s because he missed you.
He kept the balcony lights off as well as the lights in the rooms by the balcony off so you wouldn’t notice the set up from the street. Simon kept the tea lights with him which he started turning on one by one once Jay told him you were on your way. They placed the tea lights amongst the flowers when you said you had arrived which casted a soft glow on the flowers.
The rest of the members were hiding in the darkened rooms by the balcony, waiting to document the proposal.
You texted Jay asking where he was as he wasn’t in the office. He told you to go to the balcony. You opened the door and there he was standing amongst the flowers, smiling tenderly at you.
“What’s this all about?” you asked.
“Y/N, we’ve been together a long time and you never left my side even on my lowest moments. You cheered me on and your support never faltered during the highs and lows of my careers…” Jay paused to wipe the tears that escaped the corners of his eyes and then knelt on one knee.
You gasped, covering your mouth with both hands, your tears free falling down your cheeks.
“I’m just tying my shoes,” Jay said.
You furrowed your brows in confusion.
“I’m kidding. I’m just trying to lighten the mood. Anyway,” he stretched out his hand which you took, “I can’t imagine life without you and I want to support you in this lifetime just as much, if not more than you ever did for me. So,” he fished the ring out of his pocket, “will you marry me?”
“Yes!” you exclaimed and he slipped the ring onto your finger. You pulled him up and you kissed him, not minding how the both of you were a crying mess.
The lights on the rooms by the balcony lit up and you were met by the cheers from the AOMG members. They signaled for you to pose and they took pictures. Simon then went out to take better pictures as the windows were casting a weird glare.
You and Jay handed him your phones and he took more photos of the two of you.
“I guess I should make it official, huh?” he said as he posted your engagement photo on Instagram.

The doorbell rang and you saw DJ Wegun on the intercom. You opened the door and he shoved Daon into your arms and practically ran to the elevator, leaving you stunned with his actions.
You took out your phone from your pocket and called him. "What the h e l l?" you whispered angrily.
"I appreciate you spelling the word and not cursing in front of my son. But remember you told me you wanted to know if Jay can be a good dad right? So there, babysit Daon. I'm going on a date with my wife, just us two since Daon was born and our babysitter cancelled on me at the last minute. Thanks!" he explained quickly.
"Uhh, I never agreed but okay I guess? Have fun on your date," you replied reluctantly and hung up.
Jay spotted you by the door with Daon in one arm, his stuff hanging on your other arm and hurriedly took Daon’s stuff.
"What do we do with him?" Jay asked.
"Babysit him?" you answered unsurely then mentioned to him that you think there’s more stuff in the hall and Jay fetched his car seat and high chair.
Jay brought them in and told you, "You can put him down you know."
"Our house isn’t baby proofed! What if he hurts himself? Wegun’s gonna be mad at us," you argued
"Well you can’t carry him forever. We’ll just chase after him I guess," he countered.
You did a quick survey of the room and seeing nothing potentially dangerous laying around, you cautiously put Daon down and he started walking around and you followed him just in case.
While you followed him, Jay unpacked some of his stuff like his food and his milk, his bottles and eating utensils. Unsure of what to do with all of it, he Facetimed Wegun to ask. He didn’t forget to tell him that he should have at least given you two a heads up about Daon to which Wegun replied that he wanted to know how to handle a child, and y/n wanted to know if he’s ready for fatherhood and that he's just helping both of you.
Daon finished roaming the apartment and realized he was not home and started to cry. You picked him up and tried to console him.
Jay heard him crying and immediately showed Daon his dad which consoled him a little and Wegun told him they’ll pick him up later and that you two should maybe try and feed him as it’s lunch time already.
"Right!" Jay exclaimed and slapped his forehead and Wegun talked him through prepping Daon’s food.
You grabbed a juice packet to give to Daon which immediately stopped the crying and he finished it quickly and asked for more.
"After lunch, okay? You have to eat first," you told him and you carried him to his high chair and strapped him in. You asked Wegun if he’s allowed screen time and he said they try not to give him any but when they need him to stay still, that’s your best weapon and to limit it to kids shows or educational stuff.
So you played him some Pororo while he waited for his food and you prepped yours and Jay’s lunch. You ate lunch together and you helped Daon feed himself and Jay volunteered to look after him while you do the dishes.
Jay surprisingly played well with him, playing with trains and playing ball. Jay played some air basketball which seemed to be a hit to Daon as he kept on laughing then you suddenly noticed he became quiet and he was scrunching his face.
"I think he’s pooping oppa," you stated.
Jay lifted him and smelled his butt. "Ohhhh ohhh!! I didn’t know kids' poop smell really bad and I think I put his butt way too near my face!"
You cracked up at Jay and the ugly face he made after smelling Daon. You tried to catch your breath and he put Daon back down.
You approached Daon and asked him, "Daon-ah, who do you want to clean your butt? Me or this guy?"
Daon looked at you, then at Jay. He brought a hand up slowly and pointed at Jay.
"Daon-ah, jebal!!" Jay pleaded causing Daon to laugh and he was left with no choice.
You felt a little bad so you helped him out by holding Daon as he sat on the toilet and Jay used the bidet to clean him up. Jay then carried Daon and dried his butt as you grabbed a new diaper.
Jay put the diaper on and set Daon down and he immediately ran out of the bathroom and into the living room where you started to play Pororo on the TV.
"Daon-ah it’s nap time. Who's gonna put you to bed?" Jay asked, giving you the stink eye as he silently sought revenge.
Daon pointed at him and he pretended to fall dead which only made Daon laugh and crawl beside him.
You prepped his milk while Jay laid a mat on the floor and some pillows for Daon to sleep in.
You brought Daon his bottle and you noticed Jay fell asleep already before Daon did.
You quickly snapped a photo to send to Wegun telling him that the sitter fell asleep before the baby did. You gave Daon his bottle, put his pajamas on, and laid on his other side, patting his thigh lightly to help lull him to sleep. The motion was so rhythmic you didn't notice yourself falling asleep.
There were loud clattering noises coming from the kitchen which woke you up and you saw that Daon was still beside you, also awake and chewing on the nipple of his empty milk bottle. You stood up and checked on Jay and Daon followed you.
"What're you making?" you asked Jay as you gave him a back hug.
"Daon's food and our dinner," he answered as he placed his free hand on top of yours.
"What was all the ruckus though?"
"Oh that woke you up? Sorry. Some of the pots got stuck together and one fell when I pried them apart."
"Hmmm," you hummed in reply.
"Is Daon awake?"
"Yeah, he's –," and you felt a tug on your leggings,"– here."
You untangled yourself from Jay and picked Daon up.
"Are you hungry, little man?" you asked. Daon was still holding his empty bottle and you gently pulled it from his hands and placed it on the sink. You strapped him on his high chair and got him some rice crispies as a pre-dinner snack.
With Daon preoccupied, you started setting up the table and waited for Jay. The doorbell rang just as he was placing the food on the table. You stood up to get it and Wegun and his wife were at the door.
"Is it pick up time already?" you asked.
"Yeah. Where is he?"
"In the dining room. We're just about to eat dinner."
They started packing Daon's belongings and brought some of them to the car. You left the door unlocked so they could let themselves back in.
You started feeding Daon his dinner and his parents stood behind him watching. They were happy that he was behaving well with other people. "Daon-ah look behind you!" and you pointed behind him. He immediately squealed as soon as he saw his parents. They said they'll feed him so you and Jay could eat in peace. You offered them dinner which they kindly declined as they themselves just had dinner.
Wegun helped with the dishes despite your refusal and his wife cleaned Daon up. When everything was cleaned up, they bade their goodbyes and it was just you and Jay in the apartment.
"What do you think?" Jay asked
"I think we can handle a child? Right?" you answered. "Plus it's so quiet now that Daon's gone home."
"Well, it wouldn't be that quiet anymore if we start getting in on it," Jay teased.
"Ya!" you shouted, a frown forming on your face. "We can handle a child but me handling a pregnancy remains to be seened."
"In due time, in due time," Jay appeased, and placed a kiss on your forehead. You snuggled into him and thought that a future with Jay doesn't seem so bad after all.

Summary: Kiseok will let many things slide, but not this. Never this.
Length: 979
“Okay, so clearly you’re insane,” Roz sighed in exhaustion. “Hocus Pocus is clearly the greatest Halloween movie ever,” she finished in a factual tone.
Kiseok released a loud scoff and answered, “You’re delusional. Halloween is the greatest Halloween movie ever. The fact that we’re having the argument is what’s insane.”
Rosaline frowned and shook her head disagreeing with each syllable he uttered. “I don’t understand how this relationship has lasted this long with you being this wrong about something. Hocus Pocus is the most classic Halloween movie. There’s no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it.” She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, and began marking off her points on each finger, “I mean it’s got magic, suspense, thrill, a dash of horror, and even a revenge plot via Zachary Binx.” She sat back again, confident that she won. “Your cheap jump-scares can’t compare to a good story, Kiseok.”
“Roz, listen to yourself.” It was his turn to lean forward. “Cheap jump-scares? Halloween is a thriller and horror film mixed into one. The original was shot so well that you could feel Mike creeping up on you through the lens. Not to mention Jamie Lee Curtis!” He continued getting more animated, “She was amazing and she managed to survive. Although Michael Meyers’ story was better expounded upon later, it got there.” He then lit up. “Which leads me to my next point. It’s a franchise! Your little goofy witches didn’t get a sequel, did they?”
Rosaline was amazed that he had the audacity to look smug. “You just proved my point for me!” She shot back. “The movie doesn’t need a sequel! It’s perfect as is! Franchise not needed, homie!” Rosaline exclaimed once again leaning forward in her seat.
Kiseok’s eyes were closed as he shook his head. His face had gone from fully animated with smug satisfaction to bone-tired weariness. “Roz, Roz, Roz,” he finished with a pinch to the bridge of his nose. “You know. I let you get away with a lot when it comes to movies. I sat back quietly when you said that Cool World was better than Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Supported you through that debacle with your mom about Steel Magnolias versus Beaches.” He paused for dramatic effect. “Hell, I even held back when you and Jay went around and around about Black Cauldron, The Labyrinth, and The Neverending Story.”
“You know the second Neverending Story was trash.” Rosaline cut in.
Kiseok simply raised his hand to stave off her argument. He was not going to get into that debate again. He could admit that she made some strong points, but The Neverending Story was special to him. “Rosaline Janai Thompson, you know I love you with every fiber of my being, but I refuse to let you think that Hocus Pocus is better than Halloween!” he exclaimed at ever-increasing volume.
“Fine,” Roz snapped coldly, “we’ll settle this with a poll.” She pulled her phone out. “You ask the question on your Instagram and I’ll ask it on mine. Whichever has the most votes between us wins.” She said with a shrug, eyes still on the screen on her phone.
“Wins what?” Kiseok asked. “Bragging rights just aren’t going to cut it this time.”
“One step ahead of you babe,” Roz answered without missing a beat. “Whoever wins gets to pick our costumes for Jay’s party. That’ll solve two arguments at once.” She finished finally putting the phone down.
“Alright, coo,” Kiseok said finally pulling his phone out. A frown creased his brow. “Wait. Roz, how do I do this?” he asked pointing his phone towards her.
“Old man Kiseok strikes again,” she teased with a playfully dramatic sigh while taking the phone from him.
“Wasn’t calling me old last night,” Kiseok retorted underneath his breath.
~~~~~~~
“So, I feel like I know the answer to this but I want to hear you say it,” Jay said laughing with one arm resting on Kiseok and a drink in his other hand. “This costume was Roz’s idea, wasn’t it?” He barely got it out without having to stop and gasp for air from laughing too hard.
Kiseok motioned to the forest green long-sleeved leotard, chartreuse tulle tutu, black suglasses, and the gigantic felt sunflower bonnet tied around his head. “Tell me, Jay: Do I look like I would dress myself up like a giant sunflower on my own free will?” he grunted through gritted teeth.
Gray interrupted, “So, let me get this straight.” He tried his hardest to keep his voice even. “This glorious costume is all because you lost a poll by two votes?” he asked with one hand covering his mouth trying to keep from laughing.
“God, I love Roz,” Jay managed to wheeze out between laughs.
The cause of Kiseok’s current state of dress made a sudden appearance, adorned in the same regalia as him. Roz had a deep love and constant feeling of nostalgia for all things 90s. It seemed not even Halloween was going to stop her from paying homage to that time period. Initially, Kiseok had no idea what the inspiration of the costume was. Of course, Roz fixed that with one episode of the “Fresh Prince.” He felt better knowing that Will Smith had worn the costume first but…. It would’ve been better if he hadn’t lost the bet at all.
“Would y’all stop,” she chastised, swatting Gray and Jay on their arms. “It’s a good costume and you know it!” Rosaline sidled right up to Kiseok, one arm around his waist with his arm slung around her shoulders. She turned to him and smiled sweetly. “It’s not your fault your friends have no taste or appreciation of culture. You look even better than Will did, babe.” He almost thanked her for defending him until she started obnoxiously rapping: “You are my SUNSHINE! My only SUNSHINE!”
