This guy has some crazy stories
GBF fes time!!!!
benjamin styled himself as an ideal. he is the voice that screams your agony for you. he withheld his age, height, race, likes, dislikes, anything that would give fans even the slightest idea of what kind of person he is and instead just tells them what they want to hear, so that he can be who they need him to be. his own fate episodes are styled as a concert dvd bonus feature so even seemingly candid moments are still a performance for the fans, a performance of the violence you don’t have the means to express yourself. he is a vessel for others’ desires, to be given shape through his voice. valentin wanted to get his shit kicked in so benjamin kicked valentin’s shit in. justin wanted benjamin to keep singing in anger so he let justin piss him off. benjamin is whoever you need him to be in order to get through whatever it is you’re going through, and the only glimpse of what’s behind that persona has to be searched for between the lyrics.
aoidos offers himself up to the audience. with unfinished melody he’s trying to bare his self to them, to show the world exactly who he is. the viewer is on the same level as him, you can reach out and touch him, he is as much of a person as everyone else. benjamin meanwhile is the only one in view, you look up to him, he’s so close and yet just out of reach. he’s larger than life, the human form can’t contain him, he always seems taller than you expected. they’re both on their knees, playing for you, but aoidos is baring his own heart and benjamin is baring yours for you.
the red rose is universally known as symbol of love and passion while the blue rose is symbolic of an unattainable ideal, because it is a color that does not naturally exist. aoidos comes from the name for a classical greek singer, but in japanese aoi means blue which leads to the joke where he keeps naming his bandmates [color]dos. he is both the red rose, the passionate individual, and the blue rose, the unattainable ideal. however, benjamin himself tried to kill that ideal, hence his sword piercing the blue rose. he wasn’t satisfied only ever singing of the same anger wished from him, he wanted to write a ballad, to express himself. justin in turn was so horrified by the realization that he didn’t know benjamin as well as he thought that he tried to kill the person to get the ideal back. but if benjamin is dead then so is aoidos, stab the blue rose and it will simply turn red with blood. they are the same person and the same ideal, and if aoidos is once more filled with the desires of others he once more becomes the voice for a voracious ideal just barely out of reach.
