Hm a little something light, perhaps?

tried the blind color palette challenge a few times with some suggested characters :))

He doesn’t like the way Hudson is looking at him, like he wants to reach over the table and cup his cheek in his hands and tell him he’s perfect or something else stupidly romantic. He hates that he can feel Hudson’s pity for him, feel the words coming, but you’re so smart, you’re so talented, you would have been the best of them all. He chews determinedly slowly, forcing himself to lower his hackles, aim a fire hose at the sudden inferiority complex reaction. “I think we would have been friends,” Hudson announces instead, softly. Hand over his mouth, still chewing the broccoli, a polite Canadian boy. “I think we were meant to meet somehow. Somewhere. If not pretend-fucking on the gay hockey show, we would have met doing something else.” Connor wants to be the kind of person who disagrees with this blatant romanticism, but the thing is, he absolutely thinks so too. Made from the same stuff, you and me, he’d said once, sleepy with Hudson spooned up against his chest. “Yeah, I know,” he says, as Hudson’s ankle knocks with his under the table, their feet hooked together.
