Spectacular Stage 1 Buzzers — Ultimate Backyard Warrior Labor Day Ninja Competition — Neil “Crazy” Craver (@crazycraver)⠀ •⠀ •⠀ •⠀ The team at @ubwfit set up a brutal Stage 1 course to be run in the oppressive August humidity. “I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain.”⠀ •⠀ •⠀ •⠀ I’ve now had the honor of photographing both Ultimate Backyard Warrior (UBW) events in 2018; an event where pro American Ninja Warriors and aspiring amateur ninjas come from around the country to attend and compete.⠀ •⠀ On the Sundays of the 2-day event, @ubwmikecook holds Ninja Church where anyone can attend and practice their faith in the open air. Both times this had been an enriching experience for me.⠀ •⠀ At this past Labor Day UBW, Mike had installed a pool across the entire length of the Stage 3 ninja course, and at the end of Ninja Church, he, @islandninja, and @nvr_gvup held impromptu baptisms in the pool for anyone that was ready to profess their faith. It was a moving experience for everyone. Many tears of joy were shed, including my own.⠀ •⠀ Mike, Grant, and Maggi... thank you.⠀ •⠀ This is what UBW is all about. The ninja community is all about friendships and family.
