    “Just... keep in mind that having all my siblings in the same room is a rarity I do my best to avoid,” Percival grimaced as he welcomed Antoinette inside. “They’re not going to break out into fighting or anything, but they’re vultures and they are here for the sole purpose to see who’s managed to tame the beast. Don’t let them intimidate you.”

Not that his siblings would try to intimidate her, but Percival knew full well what they could be like - a family of extremely powerful magic users all focused on the one person? It had caused more powerful men than Antoinette to run in the opposite direction. He offered his arm to her as he lead her into the living room, bracing himself for whatever torture lay ahead.

    “Antoinette, this is Charles, Leon and Aurora. Please ignore anything they tell you about my childhood,” Percival said, gesturing to his brothers and sister as he introduced them.

Having just managed to wrestle an escaped grindylow back into his case before it could catch the attention of an auror, Newt straightened... and almost immediately knocked over some poor woman walking past him. “Oh, s-sorry, sorry!” Dear Merlin, he was a clutz sometimes. Theseus said it was what happened when he had blinker vision, focused so entirely on his creatures that the rest of the world melted away. “S-sorry, I- I didn’t see you.” And bending over his case before, she clearly hadn’t seen him while he was kneeling on the ground.

It was a very rare occasion that Percival relinquished control - of anything in his life, from the teams he oversaw to the spread he had on his toast. He liked control. It was comforting - in a work setting, it meant he knew what was happening, when things needed to happen, and if necessarily, he would get them done himself rather than rely on someone else; in his everyday life, it meant he knew what to expect, made decisions he wanted. To wrest control from Percival without him kicking and screaming took immense trust.

So it was lucky, he supposed, that Antoinette had that from him, because she also had his control right now. Well, alright, they both knew perfectly well he could be in control of the situation in a second if he wanted to be but... Percival was willing to trust her, and quite frankly, he was struck dumb at the very idea, so there was a possibility he hadn’t even really registered his situation - hadn’t really registered Antoinette saying that he was not in charge tonight, that she was taking the reigns.
