Granted, Elijah should have known something was up at the second message from his parents. He should have. But Elijah was so lost in CyberLife that he saw Gavin needed something and his checkbook was already out. Elijah had supplied his parents, in total, nearly half a million dollars to support his little brother. Half a million and they kicked him out only a few years after Elijah had left for college and he didnât know that until it was to late and he finally made a trip home to try and see his brothers. In those early years, when he was at college, Elijah nearly went into debt giving them every cent he had for Gavin. When CyberLife finally took off--he gave even more and his parents got used to the large amounts.Â
He cut them off the moment he learned Gavin no longer lived at home and tried to find his brother. At that point with the resources he had it wasnât to hard to find Gavin, the problem after that was that he did know Gavin wanted nothing to do with him. As kids they never quite got along, Elijah saw Gavin as rather annoying and âemoâ more or less and Gavin saw Elijah as a âfucking know it allâ. At a few points they were close, Elijah had little little pictures of them together that he loved. He remembered, when Gavin was real little, watching movies in his room or reading the boy a book when the days were very hard on them.Â
Those were memories Elijah cherished, it didnât however make Gavin like him anymore. Which Elijah had come to accept, if Gavin wanted nothing to do with him he couldnât force him. There was no point. And yet, here he stood outside the DPD, a laptop bag on his shoulder and keys to his car being shoved in his pocket. He contemplated this again, wondered if it was truly right for him to do this, and then decided that it didnât matter in the end he had little choice.Â
Glancing back over his shoulder he checked his surroundings and then made his way into the DPD, stepping up to the receptionist desk where two women and an android sat. On default he migrated to the android, who lifted her head up and smiled at him. âWelcome to the Detroit Police Department--Mister Kamski--â he waited for the shock to wear off, it didnât take long. âCan we help you?â
âIâm looking for Detective Reed, is he here?â
âO--of course, allow me to page him for you.â The question simply was; would Gavin come talk to him.
