( @antibullyng ) « curtain call
WHEN SHE HAD been invited along to see the preview of Steve’s life told onstage, she’d begun to try to control how she’d react to seeing herself onstage. After all, Becky knew herself well enough to know that she had a habit of reacting badly whenever she was embarrassed or uncomfortable, and she wasn’t sure how uncanny it would be to see someone pretending to be her on a stage.
Sitting on the other side of Steve, she’d watched the opening number, watching as people important to Steve had sung lines about what it meant to be part of his life, with a blonde actor in the middle, clearly Steve, dancing in concert with a brunette man and woman who appeared to be Jimmy and Peggy Carter.
She pursed her lips.
After a long moment, toward the end, she’d noticed a woman with a brown wig and a version of a dress Becky noticed with a start. In the second row. Dancing wordlessly with a nameless dancer.
“Is that supposed to be me?”
