I just don't know any other way to get this information out there for anyone else who needs it. I have looked and looked and looked and nobody is telling people this:
Augmentin - amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium - DOES affect hormonal birth control (Sprintec, in my case.) It affects how you absorb it, I think, because it did the same thing to my Buspirone, my Bupropion, and my ADHD meds. Not what I needed the week we elected tangelo Hitler and his inbred lapdog as president, but anyway
Also, Augmentin caused bleeding. I was only 3wks into my new Sprintec regimine and my period was due anyway, two days after it started I began the Augmentin regimin of fourteen pills over seven days. That was twelve days ago, and I am STILL BLEEDING. And, I keep getting migraines. I've had like one a day almost since finishing the Augmentin If I'd known antibiotics were gonna do this, I'd have just powered through the ear infection because this is way worse.
