Diabetic jokes. It’s never okay to make fun of a sick or disabled (diabetes can count as a disability) person so why do the majority of people think it’s okay to make fun of this particular disease like it’s nothing? When someone does something kind you aren’t going to get diabetes because they are so sweet and I don’t think it’s cute that you said that. When you see a big piece of cake and say “just looking at that is giving me diabetes!!” Yeah. No. It’s not. You have no fucking clue what it’s like to live with this disease and I don’t appreciate you joking about getting by looking at cake. One piece of cake won’t give you diabetes. That’s not how your body works.

Third, our culture here in America is based on a capitialist, “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” mentality.
