The jokes and tone of this Volume is so bad, like I honestly have not laughed once or taken a supposed sad scene seriously because the writers feel like shoving 9487589347543 jokes in rapid succession. Let the scene BREAHTE ffs.

For the whol Blake joking about Yang's arm, I don't dislike the idea that eventually Blake and Yang learn to accept what happened and grow comfortable enough that they can make jokes with each other, showing how close they are that Yang is comfortable with it and Blake knows this.

Interesting question. I think that it would be easier for Katara to conceptualize feeling sympathy & anger for Azula because like I said she doesn't have that personal vendetta. I feel as though for Zuko, this would be harder because he has all these confusing feelings toward Azula & jealousy over her - he's pretty much built a lot of identity around his inferiority complex based on Azula. He also did say he wanted to "put Azula in her place" when he went into that battle so I think for Zuko, yeah, he'd be really confused about how to feel. Azula is also his little sister & depending on how you interpret their childhood, it wasn't always horrible between them. So I feel like he'd be stuck between a sick satisfaction that Azula finally lost it & "oh shit it's terrible to see her this way" seeing Azula in her mental breakdown.

Katara on the other hand didn't really know Azula personally before the Agni Kai. I think she would feel a lot of pity for this girl who is totally breaking down post-war. She would recognize that Azula is also just a kid, the same age as her, & that she had unspeakable amounts of pressure on her. I don't read Katara as someone who would think Azula "deserves" punishment - imprisonment for the safety of others, maybe. I think especially post-war Katara wouldn't want to see anyone mistreated just for the sake of it. Certainly imprisoned if necessary, but not as "punishment." It's a big reason I can't get behind the comics. I just don't think it's in character for any of the gaang to be okay with Azula rotting in an abusive institution but I particularly don't think Katara would get behind something like that - it's not in her nature. & this isn't even shipping lenses or pro-Azula lenses (at least I don't think that it is) I just think that Katara isn't a malicious person who would think Azula losing her mind was "deserved" especially not after seeing her like that. Katara (& everyone in the gaang) would certainly be all for locking up someone who might be a danger. But none of them are spiteful enough to gain satisfaction from someone suffering unnecessarily. Probably Katara as well as Aang least of all.

in no particular order:

this is neoliberalism, our second black cat (our first ever cat was black! his name was felix). she’s 7.5 pounds and the runt of her litter (they all weigh in the low 20s rn) but makes up for it with her giant personality. she doesn’t really meow so much as murps, and she sometimes talks to herself. she’s not a big fan of being pet, but is really personable and not afraid of anything (if you’ve ever been to my house to be entertained in parties and such, this is most likely the cat that stays around the most). she can play fetch with her hairy mice and likes me da best (im v honored). 

also sometimes she sleeps kinda weird??

next is dizzy, whose our wall-eyed mistake of god who we sometimes take on car rides. she can see okay, but has some poor depth perception and has a limited range of vision

she’s incredibly attention-seeking and loves to be outside (like...cannot get enough of the outdoors). if we’re outside and we’re inside, or even if there’s just a door/window open so there’s just a screen, she’ll climb it p fast. 

the highest she’s gotten is about six feet up a screen

we often call her ladygloves, bc of her lady gloves on her paws. 

last but CERTAINLY not least: cosmic. our only average-sized cat (though once she was described by a vet as “a little chubby). 

my mama’s pride and joy. she’s our oldest cat, and pretty much only loves my mom, food, naps, and combinations of the three. she likes to stare outside (but is firmly an indoor cat, tho she’ll sometimes explore the garage) and do her lil murder chitters. she’s really chill with neo (they used to cuddle before our 3rd cat came long) but p much only tolerates me. if my mom goes to the bathroom without inviting her in, or closes the door on her, she’ll cry. if my mom doesn’t come inside immediately when she comes home, she’ll cry. again. she really loves my mom.

cosmic when we first got her as a kitten. she was skinny, and had lil patches of fur missing. she is now also less emaciated than when we got her. she’s also currently our only foster fail!! (felix, our 1st black cat, was the other one)

I don’t trust the EPs as far as I can throw them, and…I’m a weakling. I go to the gym, but my wrist is just all crazy from that cruncher machine and from typing for the last however many years. 

Here’s the thing - I’m not a fan of Adam. The world knows that - cuz Adam left Shiro when he had a degenerative disease. But the EPs made changes to the story as late as two months out of a season drop. 

So the “Adam’s fate was sealed, unfortunately,” just doesn’t hold up. It doesn’t - when the EPs admit they could made changes - and did make changes. “Shiro” came back and literally was pasted over Keith in Seasons 4-5. 

So the EPs can’t say, “Well, we had to make last-minute changes,” and then say, “Well, we couldn’t make last-minute changes.”

…that doesn’t work, guys. You’re lying one of the times, and since we had the clone subplot, I’m going to guess it’s the Adam-had-to-die lie. 

And that is, again, horrific.  

What I was trying to say earlier was - ADAM NEVER HAD TO DIE. Boyfriend or not, no one told the EPs - in any interviews I read - that Shiro couldn’t have any family whatsoever. The EPs said in this interview that they didn’t want Shiro to have a flashback like the others. 

All right, then. Adam is Shiro’s flight partner, and if they are super close - boyfriends, brothers, best friends - then Adam is Shiro’s family. That is a different flashback from all the others.  

And then, when the opportunity came for Adam and Shiro to be together - Adam wouldn’t have been dead, and yes, we could have had true LGBTQIA+ rep!

Now, as the former caretaker of someone who had a degenerative disease, I personally would have been horrified that Adam and Shiro get together after Adam dumped Shiro because he was going on a mission and had a degenerative disease.
