anonymous said : do you have any fc suggestions for a young charlie swan?
at the moment we can recommend santiago segura, miguel gomez, manuel turizo, and roberto urbina!
"I won't disagree with you there.. Love has gotten me into some sticky and dark situations. It nearly destroyed me. But maybe those weren't situations I was ever in love. Who knows? Can't know unless you take chances. And I'd rather get hurt then.. feel empty." I smile at you. "Is it true you're the smartest of the Sannins? Oh and let me pour you more wine Orochii. Or should we uncork the champagne." My smile turns a bit feral.

— The last infatuation and its consequences brought me back down to earth in that regard. I became more rational about all of it. I think it is a proper process, considering what I have witnessed.
He admitted honestly. Perhaps too much so. He also allowed himself a faint shadow of a smile before continuing.
— I would argue with that statement. Tsunade also possesses a vast amount of knowledge that can be used in many different ways.
He replied directly, in accordance with what he considered right. His former comrade in arms deserved that kind of praise. After all, she was exceptionally talented.
— Get me drunk, maybe I’ll be easier.
He let out a quiet laugh; it was meant as a joke. Perhaps a slightly predatory one, though.
— And tell me… since when have you been observing me? What caught your attention the most? Why me, and not someone else?

I tilted my head in thought. I traced invisible patterns on the thin tablesheet.
"Well.. my actions caused the death of someone I valued.. in the sense that my ego drove me to be careless. Death took them from me. I had no choice." I took a drink of my wine and waved my hand. "So I gave them up. No one to this day has any idea of what really happened. They think.. it was an accident. I allowed them to think it." Small shrug. "That's part of the job, isn't it. Death comes with the territory. We either accept it or.. let it overwhelm us."
I look up again, meeting your eyes.
"You're not a fan on love, are you Orochii." I asked plainly, mirroring your tone.

He allowed himself to focus his gaze on his companion; someone who had also chosen to devote their time to him. He had earned it; earned that attention. And he gave it in return.
— Death takes many forms. Some are the result of mistakes, others of inevitability. Some are tied to choices that have been made. A shinobi must grow accustomed to it; in a sense, it is everyday life; one must keep moving forward. However, that was something I could never quite accept when I lived in the village. I always wanted to rise above all of it.
He spoke calmly, treating it as a thought; as a concept.
— Love? Another form of attachment; people are naturally afraid of emptiness. I wouldn’t call myself a fan of it, but… I am not its opponent either. I am merely an observer of its consequences.
I listened to your every word, considering the inner meanings to them as much as the plainly spoken ones. "The eleventh step is the deciding factor, and it's always either one of two things: success.. or death. I have met with both. Rarely have I.. gotten to the eleventh step and.. failed. Except the one time."
I tapped my fingers on the table thoughtfully.
"I guess we'll never know.." I replied with a mysterious smile. "What does love lead one to do? It may have been both, spontaneity and calculation can go hand in hand, and both come from the dark. We all start in the dark do we not, Lord Orochimaru?"
— Would you care to elaborate? You know so much about me, while I know comparatively little about you - very little. I would like to learn more… details. After all, you have never failed… except that one time. That, too, intrigues me. It invites reflection. I would rather not indulge in insinuations; I value facts.
He admitted it plainly, in accordance with the truth. That was his nature; he offered others facts as they were.
— Darkness is something natural in the grand scheme of things.
He allowed himself a subtle smile, his gaze fixed on his Companion’s eyes. He saw that gleam in them - that spark.
"Orochii I want you to know that despite the fact that I'm anonymous for now. I don't mean any ill will towards you, and that is not my intention at all. I don't mean to deceive you either, in time, I do plan to reveal myself." I give you a very confident and honest nod of my head. "If you would like to keep talking that is.. after our date. I'm relieved you haven't left yet, and I hope whatever compelled you to want to leave.. finds peace." I reach out to gently give you a quick hand squeeze. "I'm here if you want to talk about anything.."
I sipped more wine and lower my gaze.
"What made me decide to be a bloodthirsty ninja? Was it fate or circumstances? Very much both. I had certain talents and naturally being from a high born clan the expectations were extreme for me to excel. It didn't take long for me to climb the ranks. Pretty soon I was a jonin. I'm very competitive and I hold high standards for myself and others. Type A personality? Maybe. But there were many obstacles I am still overcoming to this day." I sighed. "There were many hurdles. Some that defy logic. My talents.. I'm very apt at strategy, and quantifying the movements of enemy 10 steps in advance. I'm a natural when it comes to gauging my enemies and their thought processes, what their next move will be. I can also cook a mean omelett for breakfast.. but that's on a need to know basis." I grinned, dropping a hint for the hell of it.
— Even if you never revealed yourself, it would not pose any problem. I would not feel deceived in any way, so you may abandon that unnecessary thought.
He stated it plainly, his gaze lingering on his companion, giving him his full attention; after all, they were on a date.
— I considered disappearing just now, because my field of vision, under the weight of recent deeds consequences, has suddenly narrowed. It still lingers within me - a whisper suggesting that I should limit myself and remain beyond the sight of others. To act in the dark. That is, after all, where things function best. And yet, it comes at the cost of control over reality… and I prefer to remain in possession of it.
