may be a stupid question but how exactly does the nwsl continue through the World Cup? does it mean that every squad needs x amount of players to cover those that will leave ?
Hi anon, there are no stupid questions only stupid answers and I’ll do my best not to give one of those!
So teams can sign national team replacement players (sometimes referred to as NTRs) to their rosters while their players are away at the World Cup! This used to be more of a big deal, but now the league has gotten bigger and so have the roster sizes so teams don’t depend on NTRs as much as they used to. But it’s highly likely that we’ll see some signings soon for a couple of teams that are losing a lot of key players (Reign, Portland, Spirit, NCC maybe) but as long as the teams have enough players they feel comfortable and they meet the leagues minimum requirement of 22 players on their roster, they’re not required to sign any additional players!
As far as play goes, the league has tried this year to limit the amount of regular season games during World Cup time and focus mostly on the Challenge Cup. Their teams will only play 3-4 regular season matches while they’re away and play mostly challenge cup on the weekends and July 14-16th is a break weekend as well as August 11-13th!

3. Paula Wilkins, who was Rose Lavelle's coach at Wisconsin and took a chance on our baby midfeilder becuase she saw the potential when all the other coaches though Rosie was too small!

Soooo Sunny’s old tweet that the uswnt social put up sent me into a rabbit hole and I can’t believe I never knew how nerdy she was about the national team. Girlie was an original woso stan.
