I bought a new cookbook for no particular reason other than wanting to try new recipes but feeling overwhelmed by the internet and I get more excited about it every time I think about it

Did I tell you guys my school caught on fire? It was a little fire and we literally just went back in like 45 minutes later but boy howdy that was a stressful evacuation (we emptied the building in less than a minute tho let's go team 🔥🔥🔥 if an institution is going to catch fire I guess it's better that it was one that practiced for this scenario monthly)

I'm being sedated for my root canal so I can't eat anything so I'm having valium and a sip of water for breakfast

#anntics #they told me I could take my prozac but it makes me soooo sick if I take it without food and at least a half of a glass of water #so I will abstain for today

Visiting my friends always inspires me to put more effort into taking care of myself and my spouse and my home.

#anntics #they are also a married couple #I am going to try to start Really cooking again #even if it's only a couple of days a week. actually preparing and seasoning and cooking meals with multiple components #don't ask what I was doing before. it was horrible #also I want to start dressing better and changing my bedsheets more frequently #don't ask how frequently I have been changing them. it is not good.

Reattempting the cookies that gave me depression last time. So far so good-- they are chilling in the freezer and I feel fine. I think the reason I get depressed when baking is bc I will come across a step I didn't anticipate (regardless of whether or not I read the entire recipe beforehand, I usually miss something) and it creates more work than I expected, requires a tool or space I do not have ready or any access to, or otherwise fucks up my baking process.

But this time, having already made the recipe once, I am more prepared and so did not lose hope in everything mid process
