2025 Recap!
2025 was my first full calendar year on FR and I'd like to outline my experiences. I didn't keep any record of what I was up to before I started this blog in June, but since I'm not aiming for completeness, only making note of what stood out won't be an issue.
I'll start off with some pretty pictures (outfits and projects), move on to a retrospective, analyze the dragons that joined my clan (there will be stats), and end the recap with my clan's overall statistics at the end of 2025.
Outfits planned
Gonatid - Corripheye
Orokxu - Hespian
Xipho - Roi - Sahara
Projects completed
G1s:

Ponteixites (prim.) - Nomismo (prim.) - Gwendolyn (prim.)
Arysa (sec.) - Diesto (sec.) - Calahan (tert.)
Retrospective
Personal Achievements and Projects
Had a big breakthrough in clan lore in January, which fizzled out due to life happening, unfortunately. I continued to return to it, though, and was adding bits and pieces here and there, often inspired by hatchery pairs, as well as starting to develop individual lore for a handful of dragons. It remains a major goal.
Had the Colonnade evolve from a simple adoption thread into somewhat of hatchery, with bigger plans for the future.
Began dressing dragons, as seen above! My methods have improved massively since my first attempt (Gonatid) and served to simplify the process, in part due to having participated in a few dressing events, too.
Began blogging about my activities, to my surprise! It's a reflection of how over the course of the year, FR became a central fixture and massive help in my life.
For the first time, I settled on scries for the majority of my projects and started making them a reality! Additionally, I began keeping track of projects in a thread (which should be moved to a devoted thread soon).
Coded a layout for my clan profile.
Began participating in and keeping up with Dom activities, as well as collecting badges!
Added useful features to all of my dragons' biographies, like site skins that might suit them and links to search for other dragons with their colors.
Several listing efforts, which also helped in figuring out some favorites: colors, specific gene colors, favorite genes per breed, and more.
Became more comfortable fooling around in the Scrying Workshop.
Achievement hunting, including some tedious ones like Crim and Higher or Lower.
Created a to-do list for Swipp familiars and grinded for Swipp trades and Den slots!
Grew more comfortable with acquiring Ancients without having specific plans for them, increasing their number from 4 to 12.
Welcomed new breeds (and genes), Obelisks in particular!
Milestones
reached 1000 familiars
paid off all lair expansions
had my first team, consisting of Donele, Eledona, and Schindleria, reach level 25
New Dragons
(I was meaning to assemble all of the newcomers in a picture (image limit >:() and link to them, but then I realized that doing so for 64 dragons would be beyond ridiculous, especially after already having wasted far too much time on this post. So... stats only.)
Statistics section
In 2025, a total of 64 dragons joined my clan.
Having spent more time on the site and caring for a larger clan, adoptions slowed down and hit a slump mid-year.
The majority of dragons came from the most active adoption board (Adopt-A-Dragon) or other adoption threads. 12 dragons were Auction House finds, 7 were bought from hatcheries, and 4 through Galopa's Old Oaks. 4 dragons were offspring I decided to keep, while 2 came from eggs I hatched (the Clanbound Thorntails). Outliers are 2 dragons from a raffle and 1 dragon acquired through an auction.
6 dragons were G1s (2 Clanbound, 4 adopted), accounting for 9.6%.
14 (21.9%) dragons were projects.
8 (12.5%) were oldies (three years or older); 14 (21.9%) were older than my account.
8 (12.5%) were Ancient breeds.
Ridgebacks (11) were the most numerous, followed by Spirals (10) and Pearlcatchers (9). Fae, Wildclaws, and Snappers (unfortunately) were the least common Modern breeds with 1 each (the 1 Nocturne is a G1).
34 (53.1%) M poses outnumbered 30 (46.9%) F poses.
The most common pose was M Ridgebacks (9), followed by M Spirals (8), F Imperials and F Pearlcatchers (5 each), and M Pearlcatchers (4).
Light (15) was the most common element, followed by Shadow (9), Ice (7), and Fire, Water, and Nature (6 each). Only 1 Earth and 1 Lightning dragon joined the clan. This is partially representative of adoption thread regulars.
Common (29, 45.3%) accounted for the most eye types.
Total color stats reveal an unsurprising preference for Banana and Grapefruit. The other yellows Buttercup and Flaxen as well as Cyan were also frequent occurrences. A tier below were Rose, Bubblegum, Saffron, Sunset, Metals, Ivory, Cerulean, and Radioactive. Unexpected were Caribbean and Sanddollar sitting at only two and one, respectively.
Primary colors had Banana taking the lead by a mile, followed by Buttercup, Saffron, and Cerulean.
Bubblegum and Metals were the most common secondary colors, closely followed by Banana and Grapefruit, and then an even spread of blues, yellows and oranges, and pinks.
Tertiary colors were dominated by yellows, with Grapefruit at the top, then Banana, and then Gold, Ivory, and Flaxen. This comes as a surprise to me. An analysis of the color ranges reveals that yellows accounted for more than one third of all tertiary colors and, together with oranges, made up half of them. Blues sat at 14.3% and pinks at 6.3%.
6 dragons were XXYs, 3 XYXs, 2 XYYs, and 2 XXXs (Cerulean and Radioactive).
The most common primary gene was Wasp (7), followed by Harlequin (6), Chrysocolla and Crystal (5 each; the 5 Basic are ungened projects), and Flaunt and Iridescent (4 each).
BEES (10), followed by Facet and Flair (6 each), Constellation (5), and... Shimmer (4)? I was expecting a lot more Trail, Saddle, and Jester.
Runes (9) took the lead over Koi (8), followed by Soap (7) and Flecks (6). Opal and Smoke sat at 4 each.
