Some disjointed late night thoughts abt Hatsusaki and my frustration with the fandom regarding the episode 11 reveals (no way in hell am I posting this on my main account lmao)
Once again, eternally confused by the people who think Hatsune's "chaining Saki-chan to the radiator" song is fine, healthy, romantic goals even; but jumped off the ship or JUST NOW realize Hatsune's behavior wasn't healthy nor sustainable at the incest reveal; you do realize that wanting to keep someone forever looked in a codependent relationship with you and intentionally pushing for it in their darkest hour is already a toxic relationship dynamic right? The incest is literally the lesser of both of their troubles right now. Toxic yuri fans when the yuri is actually toxic
Frankly it's even thematically consistent; in a narrative where familial structures and hierarchies are consistently portrayed as oppressive and dehumanizing, something that entraps the individual; isn't the ultimate denial of these structures the refusal to engage in it's rules? The utter disregard for it's repressive power?
If you don't want to engage with it like that there's also the angle of Hatsune's trauma; if you are alienated since early on (as is implied to be her case) from what a family IS, you are bound to develop complexes and either unhealthy or disjointed concepts of how to relate with Family, she clearly knows it's wrong to feel romantic feelings for her niece, her knowing that is kind of the center piece of her tragedy, but if you grow up never quite Being A Person, told from the beginning your existence is something that Should Not Be, something to hide, if someone looks at you and not only RECOGNIZES YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE, but also tells you you are something good, it would already fuck you up not even counting all the other complicated family complexes.
Hatsusaki/Uisaki would never go as hard as they go now without the incest and I will die on this hill; I will even go so far as to say they ONLY WORK SO WELL because of the incest
