I'm trying to get control of my old Animexx* account back and I've tried logging in with the old email account I used back in the day (which I still use as a kind of throwaway email), but of course I couldn't remember the password.
So I contacted their helpdesk/'customer service'/IT help and they sent me a link that (allegedly as it turned out, lol) should have let me reset my password.
At first, it worked as usual (they usual way this works - you click 'Forgot my password', you enter your email, they sent you an automated message to your email account that says 'Click here to reset your password', you click the link, which sends you to a website where you can reset your damn password) and I got to the part where your enter your email adress, so I did that and it said, 'You should shortly receive an email with further instructions' (a little weirdly worded, but no red flags for me yet, this is what these webpages usually say).
Except I never got a damn further email, which means I can't reset my password, which means I can't log into my damn Animexx account.
I've written staff another email about this, but who knows if they'll reply lol
*For my non-German followers: Animexx is a social-media like website mostly for anime fans. Other fandoms (like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars etc exist there too, but it's mostly centered around anime/manga. Hence the name.
For my German followers: Yes I used Animexx when I was like 17. So sue me. /j
