So here's my opinion and analysis, lemme know if you agree with it or not 💭

As a child, Naoya being the younger sibling, he would naturally become dependent on his older sister.
In a household of the Zenin clan, where affection is rare, his sister would likely be the closest thing he has to comfort and warmth.
She would take care of him, feed him, check on him and spoil her little brother a little.
But growing up and adapting the Zenin beliefs, Naoya wouldn't interprete what she did for him as "My older sister loves me" but he would reform it as "This is what women are supposed to do"
So automatically, her care and love became a proof that the Zenin ideologies about women are correct; meaning the women's role is to serve, nurture and make sure the men of the clan are comfortable.
So to him, it became simply her fulfilling her duty and no longer an act of love care, and selflessness.
But I feel like despite that rotten mentality and twisted reasoning he still has developed a genuine attachment to her, simply because she was always there for him, present more than anyone else in the family.
However, when he's grown, despite that attachment he would put his goals and ambitions before her.
Even if he cares about her, he wouldn't let that attachment interfere with his goals and status within the clan, especially that he's working to become future head of the Zenin.
Ironically, she would be the only woman he treats with a strange form of respect. Not the respectful equality tho!!
Also, Naoya would absolutely be overprotective over her!! Like he would literally kill anyone who speaks badly about her, disrespect her or even look at her the wrong way.
He would appreciate her most if shes stays out of his business tho, never question his decisions or challenge his rotten ideologies.
But if his sister is stronger than him or more talented as a sorcerer he would likely try to manipulate her, reminding her that as a loving brother it's his duty to protect her so she should step back and act upon her role.
But if she doesn't, then it would definitely create tension between them.
He wouldn't physically hurt her, she's still his sister, the one that raised him, but emotionally he would become colder, bitter and create distance between them.
So even if Naoya loves his sister in his own way, that love and bond would never be strong enough to undo the rotten mindset of the the Zenin clan.
