University Housing
"So you're telling me... the only dorm room available is with a male roommate?"
Padme stared at Mrs. Dodds across the desk, her voice caught somewhere between disbelief and quiet panic. Mrs. Dodds, bless her, truly, was already clicking through the housing database with the kind of determined energy that said I will fix this even if it kills me.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart. Spring transfer housing is completely maxed out. We had an unexpected wave of mid-year transfers, and every female-occupied room is at capacity." Mrs. Dodds adjusted her glasses, squinting at the screen. "The only available bed is in a male-occupied suite in Building 4."
"Male-occupied."

Padme pressed her lips together. She'd transferred across the state, uprooted her entire life, left behind her girlfriend and her friends and the only campus she'd ever known… for THIS. To sleep in some random dude's room because Coruscant didn't believe in adequate housing planning.
"Mrs. Dodds, I—"
"Now, I'm not going to let that happen," Mrs. Dodds cut in, already reaching for her office phone. "I'm going to call the housing director right now and see if we can work something out. There has to be something we can do. A temporary placement, a converted study lounge, a—"
"Who's the roommate?"
Mrs. Dodds hesitated. Her fingers hovered over the keyboard. "His name is Skywalker. Anakin Skywalker."
Padme's eyebrows furrowed. "Okay..."
"He's a bit... peculiar." She said, wiggling her fingers as she said the word ‘peculiar’.
