Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 (Coming Soon)
“Y/n- Y/n! Are you even listening to me!?” Your best friend Jihyo speaks up, pulling you out of your thoughts.
You blink slowly, eyes focusing once again on Jihyo, “Yeah– Sorry, Jihyo. It’s been a long week.” You end your statement with a sigh, apologetically looking at Jihyo who softens her gaze.
“Look, Y/n, you’ve been stressed for how long now? Maybe you should try finding someone. You need something fun, something new to your life.”
Jihyo opens her phone, sliding it towards you before speaking up again, “You know, a lot of my girl friends have been using this app called Perfect Match. Supposedly, it’s an app that lets you rent a highly intelligent robot? Android? I don’t know the correct terminology, but a lot of people have used it to relieve stress.”
You raise your eyebrow, “What do you mean stress? Are these like glorified sex robots?” You chuckle before taking a glance at Jihyo’s phone.
“I mean– some people use it for sex, but others use it just to have someone to talk to. Someone they know can keep a secret. They advertise it as the best companion you’ll ever have,”
Jihyo slightly laughs, “It doesn’t hurt, Y/n. I can cover the price for the first month, okay? I don’t like seeing you like this– all mopey and depressed.”
The gears in your head turn. On one hand, you find it kinda– no, really weird to pay for a lover, but on the other hand… It's free and a new roommate sounds fun.
“So? What do you say, Y/n? It’ll only be a month, and if you ever feel uncomfortable, there’s an option on the app to shut down the android. Very low stakes.” Jihyo raises her eyebrows teasingly, a faint smile on her eyes knowing she’s won you over.
“Fine– but no one hears about this, okay?” Jihyo laughs again before handing you her phone to fill out the query form, “Time to find your perfect match, Y/n~.”
A small bubble of unease grows in your stomach as you fill out the form. You quickly go through the questions. The beginning questions were basic enough to gauge your preferred personality types, but as you went on, they seemingly became more high stakes.
On a scale of 1-10, how would you feel if your Perfect Match wanted you to depend on them and only them?
“What the fuck? What sort of question is this? You turn the phone towards Jihyo, “Uh are these questions normal?”
“Oh, those are normal. You're almost done with the questions! The rest don’t even matter, here let me just–” Jihyo grabs the phone out of your hand, putting 10/10 on the rest of the queries.
The weight in your stomach gets heavier as Jihyo presses submit. “What the fuck, Jihyo! What if the robot acts weird or something?! What if something bad ends up happening?”
Jihyo shrugs, not paying much attention to your worry, “Y/n, don’t worry my best friendddd, it’ll be fine– you’ll be fine. Remember there’s like tons of safety measures on this software. Nothing to worry about mi compadre.”
Jihyo chuckles, placing her phone to the side, “Your new companion will arrive at your apartment in a couple of days, make sure to keep an eye out~ Don’t have too much fun without me, Y/n.”
You could only slowly nod at Jihyo’s words. Something in your gut was telling you that this was wrong, but you slowly pushed back any negative feelings, focusing your attention back to Jihyo who continued her rant from before.
—
A couple of days had passed since the purchase, and you were starting to think that Jihyo had played into a scam.
You were currently bumming out on your computer, eating dry cereal, and looking for a game to play.
“Wow what a trio,” you thought to yourself, “Basically eating bird feed, sitting on my ass all day, and non-stop queuing league of legends. If someone hasn’t fallen in love with me now, they definitely wouldn't in my current state.”
Today was your day off, so you decided to completely seal the deal and wear pajamas the whole time. You didn’t have the energy to do nor say anything, so you opted towards eating your breakfast at 1 PM.
*Knock Knock Knock*
You jump at the sound.
“Huh, I wasn’t expecting anyone today? Maybe it’s Jihyo.”
You walk towards the door, opening it to meet the person.
“Hello, I have a package for Y/n L/n, is this you?” You look behind the package carrier to see a giant box on a dolly. Immediately you remembered what this package was from– Perfect fucking match.
“Uh, yes this package is for me…? thank you sir.” The man quickly nods as you sign off on the package, ignoring your tone. He bids you a good day as he leaves you alone with the giant box in front of you.
You shut the door, unsure on whether you should open the package or not. The box was ~ 7 ft in length, and at least 3 ft wide. You were happy the packaging was discrete, at least as much as it could due to its size, enough to not be labeled by your neighbors as weird.
You snap out of your thoughts, before looking at the package that’s laid across your apartment floor. Against your better judgement, you decide to open the package. You are met with a white casket-esk box.
You rub your hands against the engraved name reading it outloud, “Park Jimin, your companion bot.” Your eyebrows furrow, “Companion bot? God, what did I get myself into.”
Once the cardboard and styrofoam was placed aside, you decide to open the box. There, you are met with a beautiful face.
Blonde, shoulder length hair framed his face as he– Jimin you presumed, laid still in the box.
His looks were anything but subtle, and although you kept on telling yourself it’s just a bot, you couldn’t help but feel intimidated.
Looking down at his chest, which was clothed– thank god, a small card laid. You picked it up, reading it aloud.
———
Instructions on how to turn-on your android:
Pop open the small compartment on the bottom right of the pod. There, you will find a wire.
Plug in said wire into your average outlet. Our bots are made with your consideration in mind, so don’t worry, we pride ourselves on being both cost and time efficient. Charging your companion will not cost you!
Once you are done with step one and two, locate the button found behind the android’s left ear and gently hold down for five seconds. You will know it was successful when a light blue color emits.
Now, call out your android’s name to finish the set up. Your bot should readily wake up! If it doesn’t, no worries! They may still be loading up their factory settings, and if that’s the case, stay waiting for your companion. It’d be terribly lonely for them to wake up by themselves.
Now, the final step, enjoy! If any errors, or concerns, are present or persist, you can contact our customer support line at 1-800-PERFECT or [email protected].
Companion Name: Park Jimin
———
You take in the sight before slowly sighing, “It’s now or never, Y/n. Let’s just get this over with.” Getting up from the floor, you’re able to quickly locate the small compartment, grabbing the wire and plugging it into the wall.
Now, time to locate this button. You lean over the android’s face, eyes awkwardly looking away from his face and towards his ear.
Even though it was just a bot, everything about it– Park Jimin, felt oddly human under your hands, and you didn’t know how to feel about it.
You quickly find the small button, holding it down for exactly five seconds.
You jumped as the light turned red for a short moment before turning back to the normal neon blue hue.
Once again, the same feeling in your stomach grew, but it was way too late to back out now.
Your hand was still on its neck. Against your touch, its skin felt soft and human-like as it began to warm. You looked down at Jimin’s chest, which slowly started to rise and descend as if it was respirating.
Slowly Jimin was waking up.
“Okay, Y/n, all that’s left is to say his name. You got this– you can do this. Nothing bad will happen to you”
Your slightly shaking hands held the card as your eyes locked on the android’s name.
Clearing your throat, your voice quivered as you began to speak, “Park Jimin.”
Without warning, you saw the android arise from his box.
On instinct, you rise to your feet looking at the newly awoken bot.
Jimin’s siren-like eyes locked onto you immediately, his gaze analyzing every inch of you. The corners of his lips, which were round and plump with a pink undertone, curled upward into a sincere smile, Jimin’s eyes crinkling.
“Hello, owner, my name is Park Jimin. I hope to serve you well.,” Jimin says in a small and gentle voice while trying to shimmy his way out of the box.
You, feeling bad for the android, brought out your hand, offering to help Jimin out of the box.
Jimin readily grabs your hand as he lifts himself up from the box.
Now, you could really see all of Jimin and damn was he good looking. He would give any model, celebrity, and/or heartthrob a run for their money.
Jimin was dressed in slightly baggy, grey sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt that tightly hung around his small waist. You were slightly shorter than him, who seemed to stand at a height around 5’8-9”.
After analyzing him, for what seemed like forever, you decided to speak up, “You can call me Y/n, Jimin. I think the owner is a bit– oldfashioned?”
Jimin, whose eyes have stayed on yours since his awakening, chuckles before teasing you, “Why? Plenty of people love to be called owner by a beautiful man, wouldn’t you feel the same way?”
Your face exploded as you tried hiding your now obviously red face. Jimin, who is now looking at you with the most smug smile on his face, starts to chuckle, “Fine, Y/n, you win. You’re just too cute.”
God– you aren’t going to hear the end of it from Jihyo.
A minute of silence passed by before you noticed that Jimin’s hand was still wrapped around yours, his thumb starting to comfortably rub across the back of your hand.
You look down at his hand, analyzing the sight. He had long, delicate fingers. His index finger, in particular, wore a thin gold band, which looked stunning on him.
Feeling awkward at the long period of skin-to-skin contact, you try pulling your hand out of Jimin’s embrace, but his grip gets slightly stronger.
Jimin, who is now pouting, looks at you with his head slightly tilted confused, “Y/nnie,” his new self-proclaimed nickname you assume, “I want to feel your warmth. Why are you distancing yourself from me?”
“Okay, it hasn’t even been ten minutes and he’s already acting like this?,” you thought to yourself.
“Look, Jimin, I’m just not used to this sort of arrangement. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings.” You were starting to feel a bit bad for him. He obviously couldn’t control how he felt– for goodness sake he was created to act this way.
He looks up, his expression still slightly sad, but you could tell he was trying to get over it. “It’s fine, Y/nnie, I understand. We have a while to get used to each other!”
You nod, “Hey Jimin, before we start hanging out, do you think you could help me move your box– bed? To another room, please? I have a spare room that you can stay in during the duration of your stay.”
Jimin looks at you with a smile on his face, “Can’t I sleep with you? In your bed?”
This guy is really making it hard to tell him no.
You slightly choke from hearing his words, “Uh maybe? But– and I don’t want to seem rude– can robots even sleep..? Plus, your pod is essentially your charging station essentially, no?”
Jimin laughs, “ Technically, we don’t, but we can. Every so often, us androids shut ourselves down to update our system’s software, so many of us do that while our owners are sleeping.”
You nod your head understandingly. “Good– I thought for a second you guys would just stare at the other person while they slept. Well, that’s good to know, thank you Jimin” You chuckled at the thought, before bringing back your attention to Jimin who seemed awfully serious.
Jimin’s expression quickly morphed back into his cute smile before speaking up, “So, Y/n, let’s get started! I can hold my pod while you show me the direction to my room.”
“Are you sure you don’t need any help? That box is heavy as fuck– I wouldn’t want you to pull a wire or something,” you say worryingly.
Jimin tries to hold back his laughter as he hears you voice your concerns, and while he loves to hear you worry about him, he’s an android for God’s sake. He was created to be perfect.
In between laughter Jimin speaks, “No– Y/n, you’re fine– hahaha! I was made to carry much more weight than this. You’re too nice. I hope you don’t treat everyone else like this.”
All you could do was purse your lips as you tried pushing back your embarrassment, “Okay Jimin, I’ll lead the way.”
You watch as he effortlessly carries his pod onto his shoulder, making sure not to hit any of the walls or furniture. You give him a thumbs up to see if Jimin was ready to which he nodded.
“Sorry, my apartment is kind of small, and I wasn’t expecting any sudden guests. This is my guest bedroom; I used to have a roommate, but he had to move out. Anyways, here it is, Jimin; your temporary home.”
You could tell your last comment slightly confused Jimin, but you assumed the android decided not to speak on it.
You speak up once again, “You can place your pod right here. There’s an extra bed here with sheets if you ever wanted to use them.”
Jimin quickly nods, placing down his pod and plugging it back in. It was silent for a couple of seconds before Jimin decided to speak up, “Y/n, what were you planning to do today?”
You appreciated Jimin for trying to make small talk. You were naturally kind of awkward, so having someone to carry the conversation helped.
“Honestly, today I was just planning on staying home and playing video games. I haven’t had a day off for a while, so I was using today to wind down.” His head slightly cocks, “How long is a while? You should be giving your body ample time to sleep and relax. Personal wellness is just as important as anything and everything else.”
You look to the side awkwardly avoiding Jimin’s gaze. It felt like you were getting scolded by a lover, but it must be something in his code.
“It’s been a couple of weeks, but I’m fine– really. Things have been getting hectic at the office, but it’s nothing I haven’t been through before.”
Jimin slightly shakes his head, seemingly disappointed, “This is no good. No good at all. It’s good I’m here now, Y/n. I can help you now. With everything.”
You give Jimin a small smile. Truly, you were grateful for his help, but the way he says everything makes it seem as if he has a permanent position in your life.
“What video games do you play,” Jimin says.
Okay, how do I word it so that I don’t sound like a loser.
“I– uh like to play some fps games or strategy games. Usually multiplayer.”
“Any specific games in specific, Y/n?”
Why is he making an effort to always say my name?! It’s driving me crazy.
You finally fess up, “Well, recently I have been playing League of Legends a lot with my friends.”
His eyes widened, genuine excitement spreading across his face, “League of Legends! I love that game. Could I watch you play?”
First off, you never expected someone who looked like him to like LOL, and second of all, an android?! I guess this was another thing checked off the query.
You chuckle before speaking, “Yeah of course, just follow me. My pc is in my room, so let me pull out a chair. My room is kind of disorganized… sorry I haven’t had much time to tidy up.”
Jimin looks at you with a knowing expression, “You apologize a lot, don’t you?”
You look at him, slightly flabbergasted. I mean come on, you know he's an android, but the way he's catching a read on you so fast is slightly creepy.
“No, I don’t think so…? Let's just move on, Jimin.”
—
You bring a chair from the kitchen to your room, setting it next to your desk chair.
Jimin takes a second to look around before sitting down. “Cereal? With… no milk? Isn’t this dish usually prepared with milk?”
You feel embarrassed to be called out like that, even though you know it was unintentional on his part. “Yeah, usually cereal is eaten with milk, but I haven’t had time to go grocery shopping in a while.”
Once again, you find Jimin tsk-ing, obviously disappointed in your behavior, “Truly, what would you do without me, Y/n? It’s 2:00PM, and you’re eating dry cereal for breakfast. You need to take care of yourself.”
Jimin puts a thigh on your hand, forcing eye-contact with you. “Let me take care of you. You’re so hard working. So good to people around you”
“Jimin, truly I appreciate it, but you don’t have to do this, really. I am fine,” you could tell Jimin was getting impatient.
“I was made for this, Y/n. I was made for you– don’t you forget it.” Jimin begins to smile once again, his grip tightening.
“Why don’t we get started with playing some video games, yeah? We can take turns playing since we only have one device.” Jimin happily agrees, as he watches you type in the password to your computer.
—
A couple of hours passed, and you two were having a blast. You haven’t had this much fun in ages.
Each time you found yourself relaxing under his touch, words, and gaze, you quickly had to remind yourself that he was an android. He was made to be perfect, to make you happy, and while you were enjoying your time, a small part of you knew this was all code someone perfectly designed towards your taste.
“Y/n,” Jimin snaps you out of your thoughts, “ It’s already 8:34 PM, and you haven’t eaten anything but your cereal. Let’s get you off the computer, we’ve been here long enough.”
Jimin quickly gets up, holding his hand out for you to grasp. You, not wanting to disrespect the android, grab his hand immediately.
It was insane how realistic this company made their androids; Jimin felt so real. The warmth of his skin engulfed your hand like a mitten, making you shiver in contact.
Jimin, content that you listened to him, drags you along to the kitchen. He had remembered passing by it when moving his pod, in which he used to scan the entirety of the apartment.
“Now, let’s see what you have in this fridge of yours! I should be able to whip something up real quick.”
Jimin opens your fridge, mouth agape, “Oh no, sweetheart, how have you been surviving all this time? There’s practically nothing!”
He focuses his attention back to the fridge, hand grasping at the long cylindrical can, “You’re going to kill yourself! Don’t you know how bad energy drinks are! This isn’t even the worst part. Sure, I could excuse the energy drinks once or twice, but come on, you have eight energy drinks in here but no groceries!”
You sheepishly smiled while looking away, feeling slightly ashamed of your behavior. Most days, you just ordered take out that you saved and reheated for a couple of meals.
“I’m sorry, yeah, I usually don’t have time to go to the grocery store with work and all, so I just opt towards buying take out,” you say pityingly.
Jimin’s eyebrows furrow before speaking, “Y/n tomorrow we’re going grocery shopping. No and or buts about it, okay? In my catalogue, I have thousands of recipes that I can cater toward your nutrition and taste.”
“But–,” Jimin cuts you off, putting a finger over your lips, “ No buts, Y/n. You’re not going to work tomorrow, call out. I’m sure you have enough sick days to spare. This is your health we’re talking about.”
“Don’t worry, I already had time off tomorrow before you came. We can go get groceries around 12:00 PM. I feel like sleeping in tomorrow.”
You brought your gaze up and saw a smiling Jimin, “For today, and today only, why don’t you order takeout and watch a movie on the couch to commemorate my first day home!”
Finally, you let a smile reach your face. “Okay, Jimin, I’ll order takeout and you can go hang out on the couch. What do you want?” Jimin can’t help himself. At this rate it seems like he’s laughing at everything you say, “Thank you, but as androids, we don’t need to eat. Sure, we were designed to be able to eat and “taste” food, but in this case, I’d rather you save your money.” Oh, right. Jimin’s an android. I keep on forgetting.
“My bad, Jimin– I keep on forgetting. Let me know if you ever want to try anything! It doesn’t hurt to taste something new once or twice.”
You go to grab your phone, scrolling through your food delivery apps.
“Hmm… Chinese sounds good…,” you mutter to yourself, lost in thought, “I think I’ll go with– sweet and sour chicken hmm.”
Your stomach growled as you hit the order button.
“Okay! I ordered some chinese food. If you want to try anything, let me know, Jimin.”
Jimin appreciated that you wanted him to feel included, so he just nodded with a smile before grabbing your shoulders and dragging you with him on the couch.
You both got comfortable on the couch. Since your apartment was small, you never felt the need to get a huge couch, so it was just enough to fit the both of you– albeit slightly cramped but comfortable.
You held the remote, scrolling through Netflix.
What to watch, what to watch. Aha!
“So, Jimin,” you say mischievously, “How do you feel about horror movies..?”
His eyebrow raises, “Well, as an android, we aren’t designed to feel fear– or a resemblance of it, unless our owners are in immediate danger, but if you’re asking on a personal level, android aside, I think they’re fun.”
Ah, of course. Strike number one billion at this point– he’s an android, Y/n. Behind his gorgeous blonde hair, chestnut dark eyes, and pink lips, he’s just machinery. Remember that.
“Oh– okay,” you felt slightly bad again, “What about a dating show…?”
Let’s show him peak human entertainment.
“There’s a show called Love Island online, and if you’re looking for a glimpse towards the human psyche, this is definitely it.”
You laugh to yourself. This is going to be a lot of fun– an android reacting to love island, hilarious.
Jimin’s about to speak up, but he’s interrupted by the door bell ringing. Jimin’s head immediately turns towards the door. Truth be told, he already heard the man walking down the hallway, but he wasn’t ready to distract your attention off of him. Not when you looked so excited to talk about this “Love island.”
You got up from the couch, grabbing a twenty dollar bill and heading to the door. You open the door to your delivery driver.
From the looks of it, he was a fairly handsome guy in his early to mid twenties. Your eyes drift down to his name tag reading, Choi Soobin.
Jimin, who was behind you, pinches your arm slightly as if to wake you up from your trance.
“Oh– sorry about that! Thank you so much for the food,” you hand the twenty dollar bill to the man, “ Keep the change and have a good night!”
The delivery driver’s face turns slightly pink before clearing his throat, “Hey, do you think– do you think I could have your number? I know this is unprofessional and all, but I think you’re really cute.”
Aw– this guy is really cute. I mean– sure it doesn’t hurt, and anyway, Jihyo did tell you to try and make new “connections.”
You shyly nod before handing the man your phone, “Thank you, here just add your number.” Soobin’s eyes widen, grabbing your phone as he tries to fight back his smile, “Here, I just texted myself. See you soon, hopefully.” Soobin hands back your phone.
Before you could answer, Jimin spoke up, his voice slightly agitated, “Are you going to leave now,” he looked down at his nametag, “Choi Soobin?”
Soobin’s face drops, his joyful expression replaced with straight out anxiety, “Uh– I’m sorry. I’ll go now– bye! I’ll text you tomorrow. Maybe we can get a bite to eat sometime, yeah?”
You nod, waving your hand at Soobin.
You turn back to Jimin, his face stone cold. You look down to his left ear, a faint red hue emitting from the region.
“Jimin-,” you say, “Are you okay?” Jimin feels hurt– disappointed in your actions.
You ordered him. You picked his personality. He was perfectly made for you. He was your perfect match, so why are you showing such attention to other people? It didn’t make sense.
Jimin stands still, still looking at you pityingly.
You catch the hint, placing your food down, and putting a hand on his shoulder. You just felt bad. There you were blatantly flirting with this guy in front of an android whose whole purpose is to “love” you.
“I’m sorry,” you begin to rub his shoulder, “I got carried away. Look, I won’t even text him, okay?”
You knew it wasn’t right to throw away this potential friendship, lover, or something close, but still– looking at Jimin in this very moment made you just feel terrible.
You’re snapped out of your thoughts by two strong arms wrapping around you, Jimin’s head nuzzling between your neck. You could swear he was trying to engulf your scent? If that’s even possible?
Jimin speaks up, “Mmh– it’s fine, Y/n. Thank you for being so good to me. So good and pretty for me.”
You froze– yeah you’ve had a boyfriend or two, but this felt way too intimate.
Hesitantly, you wrap your two arms around Jimin, obviously making the other party happy.
The two of you stay in that position for what feels like forever before Jimin pulls back with slightly lidded, sultry eyes..
“Y/n, you should go eat your dinner; it’s getting late already,” Jimin says with a light smile on his face. He moves the strand of hair dangling in front of your eyes before grabbing your take out and leading you towards the couch.
“Come on, Y/n, did I already wear you out already?,” Jimin says teasingly, looking you straight into the eye.
You quickly shake your head, choosing to quickly sit down on the couch and stuff your face. This guy was going to be the death of you.
Jimin, catching the hint, decides to put on this love island show you were talking about.
—
“Wow, do you humans usually act so… brazen? Is this what you like?” You quickly shake your head, “No– no I mean this is just for entertainment. These people are like the top notch life of the party group.”
Jimin sits closer to you, “They all kiss each other so roughly– with strangers..?”
You nod, stifling your laugh, “Yeah, practically each challenge is them throat fucking each other.”
Jimin slightly lags as if he’s searching through something, “Throat fucking, huh. Interesting. There’s a lot of stuff online about it… Do you like “throat fucking.”
Oh my fucking God. Jimin is going to be the actual death of me.
Your face completely flushes, choking over your words, “What– Jimin!” You cover your head with the pillow that was splayed across your lap.
Jimin looks at you with a dangerous gaze, an amused grin itching on his face. “Why are you so embarrassed? We’re both adults, Y/n. Adults do these sorts of things.”
You could feel the couch indent in as he inched closer to you. He placed one hand onto the top of the couch, the other resting on the arm.
Jimin was caging you with this dangerous look into his eyes, “You know, it’s only been ten hours, 35 minutes, and 15 seconds since I’ve been here, but you’ve made it so hard to stay back.”
You slowly lean back, as much as the couch lets you at least, as his face inches closer. Your eyes were restless, darting everywhere but his face, trying to desperately stay cool under this strange predicament.
“Good, I like that I can make you feel this way, Y/n. Make you feel the way that delivery driver,” Jimin says with contempt, “couldn’t ever make you feel, right?”
You stay silent for a couple seconds, your brain slightly lagging behind.
Jimin moves his hand to gently grab your chin, forcing you to look in his direction, “Hey, look at me while I’m speaking, okay?” You were shortwiring. How could this android feel so attached to you in less than a day! Why is he showing insecurity? Why is he jealous, not in that cute stereotypical way, but in the way a boyfriend who knows me would.
You slowly nod, forcing your eyes to lock into his.
This makes Jimin extremely happy. How complacent you are.
Jimin moves his hand from your chin to your cheek, gently cupping your cheek, “You know, Y/n, you’re lucky to have met me. The world’s a dangerous place with dangerous people, and to think of you acting this way– feeling this way for anyone else makes me want to protect you even more.”
At this point, you were just rolling with the punches. While it felt nice for someone to act towards you in this way, you knew it was superficial.
One month– that’s it, Y/n. One month of fun and then you’ll go back to your regular, boring life. You’ll pack Jimin back in his same, old pod and send him back. Send him to meet some other person– make them feel special.
In a way it made your chest ache, but it was way too early to feel any sort of way.
Jimin knocks you out of your thoughts when you feel a pair of soft lips press against your temple, then your cheeks, and then the corner of your lips before moving his head away.
“Why don’t we go to bed, Y/n? It’s been a long day for you.”
You, still in shock, slowly nod your head, grabbing the leftovers from your dinner and taking it to the fridge.
You look back to Jimin who continues to follow your trail. “W-Well, Jimin,” you say slightly shaken, “It’s time for me to go to bed, goodnight!”
You give Jimin a small wave, quickly walking to your door. Jimin still follows you though.
You turn back to Jimin, confused, “Your room is that way, remember? This is my room–”
Jimin cuts you off, “I know where my room is, Y/N.” He steps closer to you.
“I don’t want to sleep there. I want to sleep with you,” Jimin says matter-of-factly, “ It’s lonely by myself.”
Jimin grabs the sleeve of your pajamas, as if trying to plead his case.
Really you tried forcing him back to his room, but he just wouldn’t listen!
“Jimin,” you point to your bed, “this cannot fit the both of us there! At least not comfortably.”
The android stared at you slightly puzzled, “But– it can fit the both of us!” He points at his chest with his palm, “I was made to be comfortable, Y/n!”
Jimin started to look slightly fed up, the same red light beginning to shine under his ear.
“Okay, Jimin, let’s calm down,” you look at him, unsure on how to feel, “Since it’s your first night over, just for tonight, you can sleep in my bed.”
Jimin immediately goes towards you, grabbing your hand and leading you to your bed.
You could only laugh at the android’s reaction, “You wasted no time, huh.”
Jimin only shook his head, taking advantage of the limited space and cuddling closer to you.
You couldn’t get over the fact of how comfortable Jimin felt. He wasn’t human, and no amount of cool technology could make you forget this.
You’re knocked out of your thoughts by the android, who is now smugly looking at you.
“So, Y/n, how was your first day with me? It's fun, right.”
You thought back to your day, which was enjoyable– besides Jimin’s interaction with the delivery boy– slightly smiling to yourself.
He pokes your slide, “See, I knew it! You really must like me, huh.” His eyebrows move mischievously. “Well, I can’t blame you, Y/n. I was made to serve you, match all your needs, and be by your side forever. You won’t ever return me, right?”
His face moves to the nook of your neck, as if trying to move closer to your warmth. “You can’t ever leave me, Y/n. If I get returned, I won’t be able to remember you– I can’t even think of a reality where I’m not with you. Please keep me forever. They move me from person to person, but each time– each time I lose myself. Don’t you know how scary that is?”
Your heart hurts at the android’s incoherent muttering.
I’m sorry, Jimin. We only have so much time together, and I hope your next “Perfect Match” will be better for you. For now, we’ll live in the moment, enjoy our time, and move on. I hope he’ll be able to understand.
You wrap your arms around Jimin, trying to comfort him. The least you could do was make him feel better. Plus, it was nice having someone else around.
Taking a deep breath, you decide to console Jimin, “Don’t worry Jimin, you’ll be fine. I’m right here, right where you want me to.”
You felt bad to reassure the android with false promises when he was so obviously worried, but what more could you do?
You rub your hand across his back in a soothing manner, Jimin’s breathing calming you down.
Jimin pulls back, looking you in the eyes, “Thank you, Y/n. Although I don’t remember my past partners, I have a feeling you’re my strongest connection yet.”
He smiles, putting a hand behind your head and rubbing it, before speaking up, “I hope we can make many meaningful memories together.”
Slowly, you find yourself beginning to fall asleep. Even though this arrangement was weird, you found comfort in it. Who would’ve thought you’d be sleeping with a handsome android and sharing a full sized bed with him today– you definitely didn’t.
As you slowly lull to bed, your eyelids beginning to blink slower and slower, you hear Jimin’s sweet voice whisper, “Good night, Y/n. I love you.”
Note: Guys, I know I still haven't finished SWAPPED, but I couldn't stop myself from writing this out. Originally, like SWAPPED, it was supposed to be a One-shot, but I didn't want to hyperfocus on the second half of the story and not post anything....
I've already written ~2kish words for the 2nd chapter of this Short series, so I should be done with it in a couple days from now. Regarding SWAPPED, I am also around 2kish words in, but in my opinion, that story will definitely be longer than this one. In total with what I have written out, SWAPPED has ~5kish words so far, but it is about halfway through the plot. If you are waiting on an update, give me some time I will clutch up, trust.
