What an incredibly interesting man Andrew Lang must have been... poet, anthropologist, historian, art critic and fortunately collector of folk and fairy tales. I wonder if he controlled the illustrations and board artwork for his books. This is the first in a series of gorgeous books edited by him. We have a small collection of Andrew Lang's Fairy Books of Many Colors. Lang collected the fairy tales from a wide range of sources, and was the first to publish many of the stories in English. There are twelve "colored" fairy books in all. We are glad to have a selection of these fairy books, especially when we can match the color of the box to the color in the title!
