I knew he'd pick Andi. Gotta associate her name with something other than the whole faking being Asian thing, as well as this:

This might be a bit of a controversial take, and I encourage systems to correct me if I’m wrong. But I think that drawing “andi” made pokes holes in Salems claims that he’s a system. So alters do not share memories, however, information and memories are stored in two different places. Information can be things like language or skill, it’s why alters can each speak a language without having to learn how to speak it individually. It’s also why alters can all share certain skills. An alter would not forget how to draw, they share the same skill that body does. They might have a different style or different technique, but it doesn’t make sense for an alter to not have access to art skills if other alters do. It doesn’t make sense for “Andi” to be a significantly worse artist. Especially considering in the past they COULD draw. I think Salem is leaning more and more into the “regressed” excuse to make it seem more believable that they just speak in broken English for reasons other than racism.
And another thing, if Andi is real, and Salem is a system, which I believe COULD be possible. An alter being of a different race is entirely based on a perception of race. It’s not as though an Asian being is inside Salems head, it’s just his idea of what an Asian person is like. So regardless that perception is definitely based off racist ideas about Asian people. (Not to mention Andis ethnicity being a various mix of East Asian stereotypes)
These are all great and interesting points, I've never considered the last part.
So, yeah, Salem has some issues regarding how he sees Asian people regardless of whether Andi is real or not.
Its getting to the point where I can't see random people online be silly and go "bweeehhgh" without thinking of the way andi types/talks(?) on all the recent fronting posts. It is extremely reminiscent of how comedic-relief anime characters (primarily girls for fan service) have random catch phrase noises at the end of sentences, like for the example the "ah, eto... bleh~" from tahio shichauzo.
And this isnt helped by salem still refusing to acknowledge and apologize for his continued orientalism, all while deleting post replies from others trying to bring it up. It ALSO isnt helped that andi, who is semi-regressed, is still drawn with her ass cheeks and underwear on full viewing display (granted idk how old andi is, but semi-regressed insinuates under 18 to me)
Omg, I literally had the exact same thought that you mentioned in the last sentence of the first paragraph. I just couldn't remember what exactly my brain was connecting it to.
And yeah, everything about Andi is weird and suspicious as fuck. If she is real, then, if I were Salem, I would pretend like she didn't exist, atleast online. He causes a problem for himself every time he mentions her.

Wow this is such a weird response from Salem after being called out for racism. I don’t want to fake claim him, but it is strange to see Andi fronting after Salem got called out for Asian fishing in the comments on his alter post.
Yeah, I saw that. I remember he did something similar to this I think a year ago. I had said something about Andi, and then two hours later, he posted something about her [1]
it seriously pisses me off how salem treats DID like some fun little "teehee lots of funny guys living in my head" thing instead of a serious disorder born from unfathomable trauma. it pisses me off even more how he claims he developed it from twitter "bullying" him when he was 18, when DID is caused by repeated trauma to a person in CHILDHOOD (5-10 years old), when the personality is still developing and fractures to protect the host's psyche.
but of course salem doesn't have any of the bad parts of DID. he doesn't have greyouts, or lost time, and all parts know exactly what's going on all the time and have perfect memory between each other.
and obviously all the alters love salem the host unconditionally and they all work in perfect harmony together to coddle him and praise him for being so brave all the time. there's never any system infighting or disagreements ever because they all love him sooo much. no one besides salem and heather ever front, and if someone else hops in, its just to glaze salem for how great of a person he is and then disappear for another 8 months until he remembers them again.
if he had any of those problems, we would have heard about it because he can't keep himself from spilling every thought that crosses his mind onto the internet.
like this is DID 101 stuff. he just uses it as an excuse to escape blame and further paint himself as a victim, and it infuriates me to no end.
