This is not so much of a rant, but more of an mutual understanding that the problem is mine as well as the Mumbai railways.

First, during the lockdown, the rules for travel in local train was if you're someone from the health sector and you had an ID, you were allowed to travel. This obviously was a problem for the local people who had to use other expensive means to travel. But it wasn't a problem for me, coz I had the ID.

Once the vaccination drive became large enough, the govt changed the rules that you needed a completed vaccination certificate in order to buy a ticket. They removed the health sector ID part. 🙃 Which I wasn't aware about. Mind you, I had taken both my doses in March - April itself (I was in the third trial phase), but I hadn't downloaded the certificate 😭.

Hence, locating the certificate (from so long ago) and then showing it to the ticket counter person who on inspecting the certificate got wary coz the date seemed to be too early and hence thought I had forged it, which after convincing thoroughly, gave me the ticket. But I ended up missing my train, and the next train for my destination was after half an hour 🙃, so tada.

Suggestion

Please allow online verification and purchase of the ticket, will be much faster.
