The Major Oak is thought to have stood for more than 1,000 years in the heart of Nottinghamshire's Sherwood Forest.
According to Wikipedia, the oak tree was between 800 and 1000 years old. The trunk had a girth of 33 feet (10 meters), and the canopy spanned 92 feet (28Â meters).
