I’ll also note that some of these terms can have multiple names, with the “alterous”, “analterous”, “nonalterous”, “a-alterous”, & “analt” part being interchangeable. This isn’t applicable to every term though. I also chose not to list everything to try to keep it brief. So for example, loveless analt can also be called loveless analterous, loveless nonalterous, and loveless a-alterous.

DEFINITION ⦂⠀An analt-spec identity that refers to individuals who, when alterous attraction is felt, experience a sense of guilt and/or dread, presumably having an effect on the attraction. This could be because of trauma, but it does not have to be.

It describes someone who experiences limited, little, or no alterous attraction.

The analterous spectrum includes both fully analterous (doesn't experience alterous attraction) people and greyalterous (experiences little or limited alterous attraction) people.

Alterous attraction is attraction which cannot be neatly identified, but is not strictly romantic, platonic, or sexual. It is a "non-binary" form of attraction, so to say.

While being fully analterous is considered the norm in most groups, it is considered atypical for arospec or acespec people to be analterous because they "need to have a replacement for the attraction they are 'lacking'" and "everyone desires partnership of some kind."

As such, being fully analterous isn't necessarily used to describe just having no alterous attraction - it is used to describe having no alterous attraction while being "expected" to experience it.

Greyalterous attraction (ie; lithoalterous, demialterous, etc) labels can apply to anyone, though, whether they are "expected" to experience alterous attraction or not.

(Note: The reason why I said "fully analterous" is because some greyalterous people will call themselves analterous, just like how greysexual people might call themselves ace, greyromantic people might call themselves aro, greyplatonic people might call themselves apl, etc.)
