300 parts of a Vivitar Series 1 35-85mm f/2.8 vari-zoom (FD). 🤯 It is a stunning example of an engineering marvel emerging out of the precise interplay of small parts. Vivitar's legendary zoom introduced in 1975 and offered a very good zoom range for portrait photography, with a constant and fast max aperture. It contains 12 lens in 9 groups. The lens manufactured with M42, FD, C/Y, AR, F, OM and MD mounts, so all photographers could use it on almost any popular SLR cameras. Two disadvantages of the lens are the not so strong image quality at wide open and the weight (nose-heavy, 722g). It is a big challenge to service such a complicated optics, but I love these adventures.
