A Mayan glyph representing the cosmos, would focus on symbols tied to the sky, stars, the sun, and the overarching cosmic order of the universe. The cosmos in Mayan thought was structured with the heavens, the earth, and the underworld, with celestial bodies moving in cycles that were integral to their calendar and belief system.

Central Element – Sun and Stars:

At the center of the glyph, a sun symbol could be depicted, representing the central force of the cosmos. Radiating out from the sun would be stylized rays, emphasizing its role as the source of energy and light.

Surrounding the sun could be stars represented by multiple small dots or circular symbols, signifying the cosmos as a vast expanse of celestial bodies.

Spiral or Circular Motif:

A spiral could extend from the center to represent the cyclical nature of time and the universe. This is a common motif in Mayan art, symbolizing both the passage of time and the continuous flow of cosmic energy.

Alternatively, a circle could surround the central sun and stars, representing the cyclical, interconnected nature of all things in the universe—earth, sky, and the divine.

Geometric and Celestial Pathways:

The glyph might include lines or pathways emanating from the central sun, representing the orbits of planets and the movements of celestial bodies. These lines could connect to other smaller glyphs or symbols that represent other celestial forces such as the moon, Venus, or even the stars and constellations.

The Four Directions:

Around the edge of the glyph, four symbols or geometric shapes could represent the four cardinal directions—each corresponding to different cosmic elements. These might be depicted with square shapes or intersecting lines to symbolize stability and cosmic balance.
