"I guess I'm the last person who can afford it, huh? Boo."
"Not that, ma'am. Just not quite used to hearing you wanting to be foolish."

〆 For a childhood story…
“Jin, can you move any slower?”
Up eight feet in the air, the bark gnawed at the calloused skin of his feet and he hissed at the burning heat.
“For the love of—Hurry up! What’s taking you so long?”
“Oh, shut up already! Why don’t you do it?”
With his small, trembling hand, Jinho stretched as far as his body could allow then tripped and fumbled and immediately threw his bony body against the trunk in a tight hug. His heart leaped out of his chest. The mango taunted him just three inches out of reach.
“Mr. Troung’ll be here any minute!”
Goddammit. Sighing, Jinho let go of his hug then hesitantly crept forward, his chest off the trunk now, his foot inching closer towards the end and his tongue sticking out, and finally, he waved his hand and tried to graze the mango with the tips of his fingers—so close, so, so close he swore the joints in his arms would fall off, and—
“Crap! It’s Mr. Troung!”
Immediately, his friends sprinted off from under him and disappeared in the thicket of bushes and Jinho, in a quick state of panic, tripped and lost his footing, slipping off the branch and crashing hard onto the ground eight feet below. His world blurred in a deluded whirlpool of colors and his head buzzed as every muscle in his small body screamed. He made something out, though. A shadow of a man.
“Jinho?”
Peering through one eye, the tears blurred his vision and he couldn’t hold it in anymore. He began to cry at the pain and Troung fell to his side.
“Tía má ơi—Jinho! If you wanted one, why didn’t you just ask?!”
amyshepard replied to your post:
"Probably because it's not very common. You usually see dyed or genetically altered blondes. Yours looks different from what I've seen, so I had to ask."
"Well, I guess that makes me one of a kind, huh? I'm not sure if I really like all the attention, though, but I guess I can handle it."
amyshepard replied to your post: “Ugh, yes. I’m still alive. I think.”:

✭ What is one of their favorite items?
Jinho wears several bracelets, but one that he never takes off: his Buddhist beads. Every year in Vietnam, his family invited monks over to bless their house, to rid their home of ill feelings, of bad memories and to grant them the opportunity to start fresh and new. At eighteen, he already endured two years of BMD and was soon leaving to study for college, and before he left, his family asked for the monks to bless bracelets for each member. With praying, it was to help guide them through hardships and offer good luck. Does he believe in all of that? Maybe. And if you ask him why he still has this 16-year-old bracelet, he’d say, “It’s been so long… I can’t see a reason take it off now.” But the bracelet means a lot, whether he reflects on it or not. He wore it through the struggles of his disease and through the Reaper invasion, losing both his lover and his home, and it’s the one direct connection to Vietnam and his life on Earth he will never give away. If you’re going through Hell, keep going.
