Dog related thing of the day!!!
Today's dog related thing of the day is a breed, the American Staffordshire terrier or Amstaff for short.

The Amstaff is an extremely muscular dog that (despite its name) originated in England. They have a lineage of the bulldog and a few different terriers. Contrary to popular belief, they are NOT a pitbull!!! Pit bulls are actually not an AKC recognized breed, I haven't been able to find a clear answer on why so let me know if you are aware, but the Amstaff is very similar to a pitbull however apparently there are some key physical differences in build, I'll have to look over the breed standards for both (the pitbull is recognized by the united kennel club) and compare, but from what I've heard the Amstaff is a bit shorter and leaner than the pitbull.
