After many days of anger over this fact I must finally admit that my favorite works of vermin character is, unfortunately, Maximian Sorav.
Now, to continue onto the unhinged week:
1) I read You Weren't Meant To Be Human in two days and it was tamer than I expected it to be but I did enjoy it. There is a missing sex scene with the worm man I fear. He was so hot. The ending was good. Overall had a funny cool time with this one
2) We are buddy reading Notes From A Regicide with my dear vermin friend @bunnydancer (putting you in the spotlight in case my Hiron Ennes mutus haven't found your account... They're the hugest Leech fan!!!). So far, it's a nice read. I am very much enjoying Zaffre and Etoine, and I like the vague worldbuilding. It's sci fi with a literary twist in its format (written as a journalist investigating the life of his adoptive parents. He tells his own life through theirs, and annotates Etoine's journals.) The three spotlight characters are trans (one gay trans man, one "straight"/dyke trans man and one trans woman). They are painters!
3) I started reading Jeff Vandermeer's Ambergris, starting with City of Saints and Madmen and I gotta say, what did they feed you when you were a child. I love what is wrong with you mister Vandermeer. The mushroom dwellers segment from Dradin In Love is amazing and so far I really enjoy his new weird city.
4) I am also reading Vladimir Nabokov's Pale Fire at the same time (IT'S A LOT! I KNOW) and oh boy this one got me hard, I'm having the time of my life reading it. Beautiful poetry, very interesting format. I need to read everything this guy has ever written.
