victoria who wears the mask of the oppressor to survive. who flirts with men she knows she should avoid, who bullies those she sees too much of herself within, who shields her vulnerabilities by lashing and snarling and spitting. of course she would see a threat in rachel, could see through her social chameleon tendencies. could see the way she tries to placate and please for acceptance, who buries her anxieties behind as many personas as she needs. tbe party girl, the model student, the daring top dog. she never needs to bring out her claws, never feels as inclined to bite and scratch ae victoria does. and victoria despises her for it. for how easy it must be for her.

i wonder if when rachel went missing, how fast victoria sealed her despair away to continue the persona. defacing posters to hide a face she couldn't believe was real. to avoid the knowledge that it could have as easily been her.
