Stop Taking Everything Too Seriously
I think for so many people that's going to get you so far in life because people tend to be wound up so tight and they walk around life holding their sphincters like this and everything is so tight waiting waiting to cancel somebody. Waiting for somebody to say something to offend their sensibilities. And the fact is that you don't have to be wound up so tight. You can pretty much laugh anything off and eventually the other person will start laughing too.
Life is just not that serious. Business is just not that serious. And if you realize it's like what what ancient culture is called maya it's it's all an illusion. If you realize that, you know, getting a little philosophical here, but if you realize that none of it is real. And at the end of the day, the way that you interpret that stimulus coming in is more important than that stimulus.
Because the way you interpret it creates your internal state and how you interpret everything around you, the way the world works, the way the universe functions, the way people interact with you, you enter into a place of such power and strength that nobody can tear you down. And that's where I want people to come from. You want to come from a place where you have that discipline, you have that ability to acquire knowledge, that ability to build that inner strength. And then you become invincible and you can laugh it off.

Distribution is the single most important thing when designing a product or service. The number one mistake that most people make is that they think that if they create a better mousetrap the world will beat its way to your door and that maybe was the case 50 years ago, maybe even longer. That is no longer the case. Nobody cares about you. Nobody believes anything that you say. The only thing that matters is being able to influence people using Kaldini six elements of influence and we can go into that as we use that to teach people how to sell on amazon. If you can tell a better story and what other people are saying about you. Social proof super effective ways of selling things. Nobody cares if you have a better mousetrap and here's the other part of that there are a million better mousetraps out there. There's nothing more effective than the internet to let you know that your idea, your billion-dollar genius idea buddy maybe isn't so genius and maybe it's not so unique and maybe there's 5 000 other people that have come up with the same thing that you have and it's not the path to riches so what I did in those days, Chris, was I found that distribution.

But as far as just you know entrepreneurship and business goes I mean like they say you know if there's blood in the street buy real estate. Dude, there was blood in the street and a lot a lot of wealth was created and now like we're in l.a like everything's open. People aren't wearing masks and stuff and you're looking around and I'm like people are back to buying 7.50 lattes on the corner here and like it's almost like nothing changed.
I mean the businesses here actually can't get people to come to work because people are getting more money from unemployment and they're like well, why do I want to go work for 25 bucks an hour. I can stay home for 24 you know. Yeah, so and that'll end soon and things things will change and I know that there are people who who went through hardships but the people that we know in our in our industries, in amazon, in e-commerce you know they've all thrived there is there there were huge gains to be made.

I decided I'm going to take to books and I read Napoleon Hill. I read the early Tony Robbins books, Wayne Dyer. I was deep deep deep into personal development. I read Og Mandino. I read Richard Bach and and all these great writers, those old-timey writers that wrote about success. I don't know how much of those guys what they said was and how much of it was real and you know there's all this controversy around Napoleon Hill and those guys and that's fine. But it created your frame of mind for sure. That's right. It created a mindset for me that that was possible. So later in life as I approached more and more success, I started reaching out to writers. I started reaching out to personal development writers, business writers and making them my friends and started working with them on some of these concepts of success, which I, you know, to this day carry with me.
