I was writing about Alubas for a project I'm doing where I connect the world of Hollow Knight with people's OCs and see if I can just make one giant universe with them all. For fun, of course. Anyways, back to what I mentioned before, I was writing about Alubas.

Taking a look at them, Aluba is the name of the species, yeah, but their anatomy is so weird. I don't understand how they stay afloat, the things on their backs which look like wings don't move. I mean, they do move but it's not that frequent so it's not like they're flapping them. It's more like Alubas hover in the air. Also, they seem to travel in swarms which I thought was cool. Because they're passive creatures according to the Hunter's Journal, their only defensive measure seems to be floating high above ground and near acidic waters so predators can't normally reach them. Regarding the Alubas above the Lake of Unn, how'd they even get there? Firstly, we know that Greenpath is below the surface world of Hallownest (or what we think is the surface world, it's not confirmed if Dirtmouth is also underground or not I'm pretty sure) but how do the Alubas get there? Surely they didn't walk from the entry point to the Forgotten Crossroads, maneuver around the Baldur guarding Greenpath, and then make it past the Mosskin who guard the place from intruders? I'm assuming they dug their way directly into the caverns where the Lake of Unn is located because it's said they're attracted to beings of great power.

By the way, what's the purpose of their tail? Reminds me of a Manta Ray and Manta Rays use them to help detect predators and underwater disturbances so I assume that what Alubas use them for as well?

Disregard my horrible grammar, by the way, thanks. Also, I don't know much about bugs so maybe there's a bug who flies but flaps their wings slowly? I don't know, this was just a thought I had.

For some reason I never connected those dots, even tho I've seen them both at Unn's lake and the White Lady's place.
