In honor of season 2 of the Pitt a few questions! 1. Did you finish season 1? 2. What did you think of it? 3. We’ve seen all the praises, what are your biggest criticisms?
Hey Nonny!
1: Yes, it took far too long, but yes I finished season 1. I've even rewatched season 1.
2: Overall, and despite my coming criticisms, I did enjoy it. I do think it is a great portrayal and they do a lot right (like not having their doctors bang in every corner of the hospital and their bring their interpersonal drama into work and influence patient care! Whodathunk?). I will be sat for season 2, and was thrilled to wake up to the news that it's already been renewed for season 3.
3: Onto the criticisms! Please don't kill me. While true they're also meant to be humorous. Mostly. #3 is not meant to be funny, I am actually really pissed off about it.
1) This is more side eyeing the marketing. This idea of being 'the most accurate medical show on TV' to the point you can't watch, read or hear anything to do with the Pitt without hearing this flex.
...
...
Be so for real right now. a) The bar on this is so low, it's buried six feet under ground. b) there is truth to it, for sure, there is a lot they get right, the vibes are there so to speak. But vibes alone do not accuracy make. So stop with flex especially if you're not going to fix the following criticisms that are about the actual show.
2) Only because of the flex am I criticizing this, usually it is something I leave along unless it is really bad (which it actually is here TBH). Fix your fucking CPR. It's some of the worst on TV. You have 1 character that did it right more than once. Yay I guess? Everyone else's sucked the big one. If I've been seeing 9-1-1 do better CPR than you as of late, you've BIG got a fucking problem!
3) Why are all of your paramedics so fucking stupid? All of them. Fired, immediately. You have that title okay, you want to keep that marketing schtick? Then realize emergency medicine very often starts on scene, and fix the portrayal of your goddamn paramedics, it's terrible. I don't even want to call them that. They're all morons. And I'm pissed at for you making my job your comic relief, they're literal clowns. I fucking hate clowns. You had like 1 patient stat report that was okay-ish, 1. In an emergency medicine show. Are you fucking kidding me? Rails down, useless stats, what the fuck. Fail! Thank god it's not the focus. Other wise I would rage quit.
4) I love Dana. Love her. Probably my favourite character. Is my favourite character. But no charge nurse a) is that directly involved in any patient care b) moves that fucking much. None. At all. The most active of them, which I can see Dana being, just does laps of the nursing station, because they can't really leave there. They need to be findable at all times, that's the whole point of that position.
5) Whittaker. Seriously WTF? Don't get me wrong Farm Boy is good people. Good future doctor. Love the character. But HE'S STILL A FUCKING MED STUDENT! Why is he less supervised than the INTERN????? The one who has actually chosen and been accepted into their future field of practice? Who has interviewed and was accepted at that hospital to learn and work for the next four years? Sure that intern is Santos and that's a whole other can of nope, but ...NO.
